    Wall-E = Future? (IMO)

    Has Wall-E
    Depicted
    Our Future?

    Introduction:
I, personally, and first of all, believe that the human race has somehow, simultaneously from the fit, strapping people that roamed the streets in search of exercise and jobs, to the not-so-fit, can't-even-fit-a-strap, lazy lugs that sit around eating and staring at the television. Honestly, it seems as though it has happened in the blink of an eye, and not the 400 years it took for Wall-E. :]

Basically, how many Sythe-Goers think that the movie, "Wall-E", has painted a picture of the human-race-future? I mean, can you really say otherwise, being at the computer 25/8? I was just thinking about it, after seeing a couple of .. Not so attractive pictures. Meh, what do you all think?

    Discuss.

WALL-E (promoted with an interpunct as WALL·E) is a 2008 computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film was directed by Andrew Stanton. It follows the story of a robot named WALL-E who is designed to clean up a polluted Earth. He eventually falls in love with another robot named EVE, and follows her into outer space on an adventure.

    (Thanks to wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WALL-E )

Basically, i have not seen the movie, but by the sound of it it does depict the future.

our Earth is probably going to turn to crap soon because of Global Warming and all the polution that is going on (no I am not one of those freaks that is in love with the Earth and think we should protect it), but I doubt we will need to use/want robots in our lives at any time to help us clean up the Earth.

I havnt seen the film, but i have an idea whats its about.

I think natural selection is going to kick in sometime in the future where there will be a huge climate change/natural disaster which will filter out the fat people.

I dont think that it will come to a stage where everyone is fat and lazy, there will always be the people that actually exercise and such.

It depicts a future, but no the future. And honestly the chances of a movie depicting the future is extremely small.

I think the world is on a dead-set path to this EXACT future. People are becoming lazier by the day.

Alot of friends don't even bother to PHONE eachother now, they just sit at home by themseleves - which I think is majorly the fault of the internet.

As for pollution, even I throw away a packet of crisps or something when i'm finished - which I admit is a bad habit, but EVERYONE does it at some point. I guees it's up to the Earth's inhabitints to decide our future.

What the hell? Why do peopel think that the future is going to be robots, the transportation will not be on roads but on sky, humans have to wear silvery/shiny costume and the buildings will somehow innovative? That theory is so lame, and Wall-E cannot TRULY tell about THE future. The chances are really really small. Anyway, I have to say Wall-E rox. A lot of emotions in that movie :p.

Noone thinks that the future will be like the jetsons. Honestly, though, get real. I have no doubt in my mind that someone will create a certain type of mechanical form and program it to do it's dirty work. It's already happened, for the last 100 years.

The CAR is one example of this. No, no one 17+ walks, anymore. They use cars, which honestly, aren't ANY excersize at all. You can disbelieve, but the facts are facts. Technology is racing in many fields, and it won't be long. I'm not saying that the movie Wall-E tells us exactly what will happen, but it's absolutely incontrovertible that something of the sort will happen sometime in the future.

I still don't see how the chances are small of such things happening.

It could happen one day if we're that advanced to live in space for that long and we would have to do that once global warming destroys the Earth, or anything else that would destroy the Earth.

I don't know about a robot doing work though, probably wouldn't happen if the world was under severe global warming because you can't repair that unless there is a way, but I don't know.

Why wouldn't it be a robot? I mean, they've got those trucks that brush leaves. In 1000 odd years that would probably evolve into something more sophisticated
    I.e; Wall-e.

You using 1337 speak in SFA is a failure.

Anyway, I have seen this film and believe it is very possible that the story depicted in the film could happen to us in the future. But there are many other possibilities that could happen so we won't know until it's happened.

Well, it is a possibility - people are getting fatter and fatter, and the use of technology to do even the simplest of things is becoming more and more common... But the movie is obviously a radicalization, I don't think it would ever become -that- bad.

    No, you are :[

I miss the good disney movies S: and im getting fucking tired of horror movies where theres an evil object or something.

    examples

turned off cell phones (one missed call, horrid movie)
poisonous plants causing people to kill themselves( that lousy movie where people were jumping off buildings the whole time)
    haunted houses ( boring)

more freddy plz or at least something where the people die of something possible.

all these futuristic movies seem to fail, I prefer something with PEOPLE or at least cartoons, not cars or robots or something
