Thoughts on Honda civic for the first car?

Hi, so im on the mission buying my first car. I live in Eu and my budget is 3000€ max.Recently ive been watchin alot of honda civic models, i like 6th generation models personally. Honda seems pretty easy car to modify. I dont know much about cars im gonna be honest and cuz of that looking easy car to modify.I personally like little bit older cars, from 1990-2000s. If you have car to suggest, then go ahead. If you know for what price i should look for certain car and model, then you can include that also.

Also sorry about my shitty english.

Drove with it for 4 years and it's great compared to a brand new car just because when you drive with it :
    1) It's comfortable af
    2) Not scared to crash while driving an old cheap car compared to a brand new one
    3) If you know your way around the clutch, then xsara is a beast.

Thoughts on Honda civic for the first car?

honda civic is a good choice and thats a good year for civics, I actually drive a 1997 civic and it runs like a champion, the only thing to worry about is carjackers who want those car's catalytic converters, they're targets for thieves, even though they are relatively cheap cars to maintain.

If you want a nice affordable car, I recommend Acura, like the Acura TL, they're basically a straight step up from Honda in terms of quality, with the same reliability (in my experience). They tend to cost a bit more though.

My dad has alot of experience with cars and he swears by Honda as being the best car brand in terms of reliability and ease of use. He currently drives a civic that is going on 15 years old and has well over 200,000 miles, still going strong. I also drove a civic for a few months in high school and liked it.

Honda had a very strong 90s-early 2000s set up. Most of the cars of that era were very tough. Parts are abundant, and can be fixed quite reasonably. I'd say go for it if you have the means.

I think the 1999 or 2000 iterations or somewhere around there had bad tranny problems so watch out for that

Thoughts on Honda civic for the first car?

Honda Civic's will be one of your best options for a car. I would buy anything as old as 1990 up to 2000. They are all very easy cars
to work on to fix, and to work on to modify. Alot of the parts between these years of Honda Civic are interchangeable, as well as
with the Acura/Honda Integra as well. Parts should also be very easy to find, and cheap to buy brand new! If your engine is crapping
out, it's very easy to replace one and most people can do it in a backyard with the help of a friend and do it yourself video's on YT.
I have done alot of modifying, engine swaps, part changing, maintenance, etc. I am the Honda guy. Excellent vehicles to work with

Being a car enthusiast, I hate hondas, but it's your call, I'd go for a volkswagen though.

Being a car enthusiast you should be open to other people's opinions of cars, for someone who's going for a first car/car to work on
and learn things on, a Honda is actually statistically one of the best platforms to learn some basic shit on. The wiring isn't complex,
most of the parts are interchangeable, the gas is cheap, the cars are extremely reliable, the parts are cheap, etc. German
engineering such as VW is still good vehicles, but they can easily get more complex and harder to start off with compared to
    something like a Honda.

Any car brand is a good car brand if you put your time into it, you shouldn't rag on Honda's for no valid reason at all.

I'm not really ragging on the hondas, I'm ragging on the ricers, I grew up working on Volkswagens my entire life, still part them out and sell cars, and I've just felt they were so easy to learn and work with.

    To each their own.
I must say the Honda community is a really hard community to deal with. Some cool people who actually properly take time to build
their cars as I'm sure you do - then there's like 75% people which are just ricer kids, but you see those ricer kids like 95% of the
time doing stupid ignorant shit in the streets and it completely ruins the genuine community that JDM stuff could be.
I really love some VW's and german vehicles in general.

I agree, I feel like the VW Community is a lot better. I am still in german engineering with my bmw M2, but I feel like a VW is more reliable as well.

Thoughts on Honda civic for the first car?

From my experience, Honda is my all time favorite. Some people just say “Honda is an awesome car” and those are there opinions. A solid fact: I’ve owned over 5 Honda’s, such as: Civic/Accord/Prelude/type R etc. When buying a Honda, it’s the easiest car to work on. Parts are the easiest to come by an far cheapest. Are you aiming towards a Honda only? Or maybe even something else?

    Suggestion
: Look into a Toyota Camry

My very first car was a 92 Camry.. I drove it until the wheels fell off (Literally).

Those cars are very similar towards a Honda. If you have any questions, message me :^) I would like to assist you an help you find your best fit on your first purchase of a car.

    Thanks for reading,

Honda is probably i would say they best option to me, considering my budget and i dont know nothing about cars. Personally i like nissan sx models, nissan fairlady z31,nissan S30, toyota mr2(aw11) etc. But these cars would be probably perfect for project cars not like daily driving, atleast in my eyes :D
