Set what you want to run on startup

This is a simple guide showing you how to select what you want to run on startup. I'm using Windows XP for this, so the procedure may be different for Vista users etc:

1) Go to start menu, select the run icon, type in "msconfig" without the quotes and press OK.
2) Something like this should appear:



3) Go to the "Startup" tab and check or uncheck the boxes which correspond to the startup items you want to disable or enable accordingly. You can find out what each startup item is by typing the name of the item into Google.



Note, it is important you do not disable your antivirus or anything like that! So make sure you know what you're doing before you uncheck any boxes.

4) Click "apply" and then exit by pressing the "OK" button. You can either choose to restart your computer to put the changes into effect, or leave it until later (it makes no difference).

Note that when you restart your computer, a message box may come up stating that you have changed the way Windows starts, but that's all it is.

 

So basically your controlling what programs run when you start up your computer?

also you can control services and stuff from there... very hadny trick to speed up your computer a bit..
