    [Guide] Learn Basic HTML!

    Hey! This is Scott here with my first guide. This is all about basic HTML! I hope this hasn't been done before, but I'm hoping to write a very good guide.

    Table Of Contents:

    1. Introduction - What is HTML?
    2. HTML Tags
    3. Bold, Italics and Underlines
    4. Strikethroughs
    5. Line Breaks and Horizontal Lines
    6. Title and "Head" of the Document
    7. Body and Paragraphs
    8. Images
    9. Links
    10. Proper Layout
    11. Useful Links!

    Chapter One - Introduction - What is HTML?

    Many of you may have opened this guide going what the hell is HTML? Well read on to find out. HTML is the basis of what most websites are coded on. If you want to see what a website's coding is, right click and press "View Source". Now, what does HTML stand for?

    H Hyper
    T Text
    M Markup
    L Language

    In this guide, I shall teach you how to program your own basic website from HTML, using correct layout, text styles, and pictures!

    Chapter Two - HTML Tags

    HTML tags are simply as it says: tags that define what your text shall look like. All HTML tags are surround in brackets such as this: <>. Ex: <b>.

    You must end all tags with the same thing, except with a slash after the first bracket, like so: </>. Ex: </b>.

    You must start ALL HTML documents with the simple tag: <html>, and end ALL HTML documents with the simple tag </html>.

    Here is a list of the basic tags you shall learn throughout the whole guide:

    <b>
    <i>
    <u>
    <del>
    <br>
    <hr>
    <title>
    <head>
    <body>
    <p>
    <img src="">
    <a href="">

    And that's about it. Enjoy the guide.

    Chapter 3 - Bold, Italics and Underline

    Bold, italics and underline are as simple as this:

    <b> This text would be bold </b>
    <i> This text would be italic </i>
    <u> This text would be underlined </u>

    This was a quick chapter, and now on to the next one :p

    Chapter 4 - Strikethroughs

    An even quicker chapter o_O!

    <del> This would be strikethrough! </del>

    Chapter 5 - Line Breaks and Horizontal Lines

    In HTML, to make your document go down line, you can't simply press "Enter". You need to enter <br>, which will put your next text down a line. However, <br> is one of the few tags that don't require an ending tag [eg. </br>].

    Horizontal lines are simply as they are: horizontal lines across the page. Type <hr> to put one. It automatically has a <br> put on the top and bottom of it, so don't worry about that. It's another tag that you don't need to put an ending tag for either.

    Chapter 6 - Title and "Head" of The Document

    When you type <title> the text in between the start and end tags won't even show up on your page. It will show up as the name of your page in the browser bar. <title> This will be the name of your webpage </title>.

    Head, however, is the title that WILL appear on the page. After title, for correct layout, type in "<head>" and type in what you would like it to say as the title. Again, it is essential you end with </head>

    Chapter 7 - Body and Paragraphs

    The next thing in the HTML layout is <body>, which is obviously the body of text. Again, end with </body>. Now, while in the body, you can type <p> to start a new paragraph and </p> to end it. It will put a <br> automatically at the top and at the bottom.

    Chapter 8 - Images

    Now, to insert an image, find it's URL. Now, in your document, type in <img src="IMAGE URL HERE" height="height in pixels" width="width in pixels"> And your image will appear at the size you specified. Images are as simple as that.

    Chapter 9 - Links

    To link some text to a URL, you need to first get the URL of the page. Now, type in <a href=`Your link here!`> Now Write you text you want linked here and end it with: </a>. Congratulations, you now can put links in your HTML document!

    Chapter 10 - Proper Layout

    I`m simply going to post the tags in order.

    <title> Title here </title>
    <head> Head here, title of the actual document. </head>
    <body> Body, here, make some pretty paragraphs and such <p> </p> </body>

    i had to fix my BBCODE, since the buttons don't work, since i am using a proxy, since sythe won't load if i don't -.-

    Flaming the hell out of you with red font? I made it so you could see what i was talking about without quoting you constantly.... I know HTML much better than you, and when people post HTML guides I correct them. I never said anything bad about you, I only posted what was incorrect.
