Reasons To Quit RuneScape

Hi.

I am an ex-runescape player. The game has changed my life dramatically, in fact, if it wasn't for RuneScape I wouldn't be here posting right now. I was always spending my time in RuneScape trying to make money, even if that included cheating. That's how I came about Sythe. RuneScape has actually put weight on me. I remember myself being this little 90 lb child, but now I am a 115 thanks to a pixelated game. They need some such of a health issue: "Warning, please play responsibly"

Also, the game is very addicting. Once you're addicted, you can't really stop. Its like smoking.
The game has tore me apart from my family and friends. 1. I don't think any of your friends think RuneScape is COOL. 2. You're playing the game when you could actually be having family time or friends time.

I stayed home every day, lost loads of friends, just because I didn't talk to them anymore. I am much further away from my family, this is all because of an online game.

The hours you play the game, which for most people are 6 hours a day! Can you believe that? 6 hours of your computer running straight. It may not seem like it, but thats LOTS of time and your computer needs a break too. I went through an entire computer in 2 years just because I was running it all the freaking time.


Doesn't this want to make you stop?

The only reason that the game is still there is because they're making ass loads of money. Think of it, membership coming in from all over the world! They get paid a lot of money every month...

The updates keep people playing too! Well, most of them.. The "cool" updates (like graphics) are supposed to attract people. This graphics update, though, was just brought to RuneScape to try and refresh the minds of the people angry because of lost free trade and PK. It more than likely worked too, but I haven't been playing to find out.


I guess I am not saying you HAVE to quit this game, you should set yourself a time limit for the game. I would say 2 hours MAXIMUM.

And, if you are really into the game, don't buy/sell/trade accounts! Do not buy RSGP! When you do it all on your own and get whatever you want, you will have a happier pixel pleasure when you can say "I did it on my own"

 

I agree this game is boring I got like 34M sitting in bank, and its all legit and I'm lvl 69 cb pure lol.

 

True, I do very much like these reason but, who the hell plays now and days?

 

I don't play anymore it is stale and boring

 

1. Gaining weight isn't Runescapes' problem. That is like blaming McDonalds for making you fat, it is your own decision.

2. I have made a lot of friends through Runescape, even people who lived within miles of me that I would never have met otherwise. Again, it isn't Runescapes' fault that you make bad personal choices.

3. Jagex is a COMPANY, these COMPANIES make a buisness by making MONEY. Yet again, Jagex makes a game that people want to play in order to make money. If they made a game no one wanted to play, they wouldn't be much of a company.

Lastly, it is a game. People play it to have fun and make friends (sounds gay, I know), and if you don't like it, you cannot blame the game. Sure some people are addicted, but you can't just assume everyone is ruining their lives with this game. It is fine if you quit, but it is just a game, give it a break.

 

I remember like two years ago. A friend of mine introduced me to Runescape. Once I started playing, I played for months and months until I found out about Myspace. I found Myspace to be more fun without having to be at the computer for more than an hour. Then I got bored of Myspace and took up guitar and skating as hobbies. Then I got bored of skating...etc. And now I'm here at Sythe.

 

yeah, alot of people waste their time on runescape, nonetheless, the old runescape was the best

 

I only quit cause of pking

 

When I used to play I played 4 hours a day, didn't gain any weight and managed to keep my friends, but my grades went down lol. I already lost one of my friends because he got so addicted to WoW that he won't leave his house, maybe I'll see him again once he quits lol.

 

Runescape is EXTREMELY addicting..

But i still play now and then

 

Well I made my runescape account over 4 years ago and quit about 2 years ago because I sold it to my friend... And last week I decided what the hell, and recovered the account (thanks to my friend who never changed recoveries ). And as I said in the exercise thread, I'm getting 4-5 hours of working out a day, and during the middle of the day I usually hang out with friends, but if not I've got 3-5 hours of sitting on my ass watching tv, and some of that time playing runescape... Really not a big deal, it's fun because it's something I can do to pass time when I have nothing better to do, plus its cheap.

 

If you don't want to gain weight, then don't be a lazy bastard Runescape is err.. WAS addictive but that doesn't mean you should no life it So it isn't a reason to quit

i agree with the statements that you made. but in the end it's people's decisions on what they do with their life and how much they play.

 

Most of it can be true.

Althought it seems as if a 12 year old is telling a story here. The title should be a warning to not responsible kids that play runescape.

And if you are 115 lb. At age 14 - 16 there is something wrong with you.

 

In a good or bad way?

People are different heights, live in different countries, eat different foods, etc. Don't talk in absolutes.
