Why do dogs like being rubbed in the belly?

I was just petting my dog when I started petting her belly for about 3 mins...Then I left her but she started to wine and wouldn't stop until I started petting her belly again...I cant really see why they like being pet on the belly more than being pet anywhere..

 

Because they have poo in their bottom.

Well, I'd say they like it that much because they can't reallly reach their belly themselves, so they don't get rubbed there often, which makes it nicer.

 

Because the belly is where their nipples are. You are a sick man rubbing your dog on the tits.
