Making an easy sig with Adobe CS3

Hey guy's today im going to show you how to make the Font in my signature. You can use from Adobe Photoshop 7 to CS3 on this, but I will be using CS3 in the tutorial that I made for you. Please remember, not EVERYTHING may be the same if you are using a different version then I am.

    Procedure

    Step one:
Alright, to start open up Adobe Photoshop CS3
    [IMG]

    Step two:
Nextly, create a New Document with the following settings:

    Step three:
Thirdly, choose a font that is not to small, and make sure it's not all clumped up. For this project, I used the Font ITC BOOKMAN LIGHT. When writing, make sure it fill's up most of the page.

    Step four:
Nextly, right click on the layer that you made the Font on, and press Rasterize Type.

    Step five:
Once you have done that, press CTRL and hit the Layer Thumbnail. [ This is the little checkered box inside your layer ] It should make your Font now look like this.

    Step six:
Now, in the menu bar at the top, press on Select, go down to Modify and press Expand, when it ask's you by how much, enter in '2'.

    Step seven:
Nextly, right click on the layer with the Font on it, and click on Duplicate Layer.

    Step eight:
Then click on the duplicate of your first layer and press D on your keyboard. After that, press ALT - BACKSPACE. Once you have done that, your Duplicate Layer should be all white. Set the Opacity on this layer to 50%. Your Font should now look like this.

    Step nine:
Once your Font look's the way it should, press on the Elliptical Marquee Tool.
This tool is located on top right of your toolbox. It looks like this:

    Step ten:
Now, with your tool in hand, select the text like this. Note - You should still be on the duplicate layer of your Font.
Once you select that area the way I did, press Delete on your keyboard / right click delete it.

    Step eleven:
Now, go back down to the FIRST layer that you made, the origional one, and right click and press on Blending Options.

    Step twelve:
Once the menu pop's up, go down to the whole bottom and press on Stroke.
At the bottom, press on the Red Color and change it to white. Your menu should now look exactly like this:
Once it looks exactly like mine, press ok.

    Step thirteen:
Nextly, make sure that your First layer is being in use, hit CTRL - U on your keyboard. Make sure to set your Lightness to 43 + and Saturation to 55 +. Now, you can just play around with Hue, until you find a color of your preference. MAKE sure that you press the little checkbox at the bottom that says Colorize. Here is a picture of what Option's I used:

    Step fourteen:
Finally, add a color background to your New Signature. Note - Make sure you put the background in on the First layer. Here is an example of what I did:

    Step fifteen:
Now, your all done! It was'nt that hard was it?

Thank's. What I made is amazing to people that are just starting Photoshop. I myself would have really loved a guide like this during my first few experiment's, but there sadly was none.
