How to Bunny Hop on your bike

Hey guy's today im going to show you how to Bunny Hop with a bike.

    Procedure METHOD ONE

    Step one:
Alright, first of all while your coasting at a fair speed, stand up on your bike, and lean back. This should raise your front wheel, and will make you do a wheelie.

    Step two:
Once you have gotten up as high as you can, you are going to be almost standing, just on the bike pedal's instead of the ground, with your arms up infront of you. Note - Do NOT pedal right now!

    Step three:
Now, while you are still doing the wheelie, shift all of your weight to the front of the bike, which will make your bike jump up in the air. It should look similar to this. Note - You may not get this on the first try, or if you do you will not get the same amount of distance of the ground as this person. Practice this a few times, and eventually you will master it. To get roughly a foot off the ground, it took me about half an hour.

    Step four:
Now, as you begin to come down, just balance your weight out on your bike equally, so both wheels hit the ground at the same time. If you get too high of a jump, and land on one wheel, it may pop, or you may even fall of your bike.

    Procedure METHOD TWO

    Step one:
Alright, first of all while your coasting at a fair speed, stand up on your bike, and lean forward. When you do this, you should look like this.

    Step two:
Now, shift your weight to the front, so your back wheel goes up. Do not worry, some people have a fear that they will fall of the bike and faceplant, but that will not happen.

    Step three:
Now, while your back wheel is up, and the front one has the weight on it, snap your body back. This will make the front wheel raise, so that both wheels will be off the ground. The more you snap back, the more air you get, so be sure to put alot of force in it. Yet again, your bunny hop should look like this.

    Step four:
Now, as you begin to come down, just balance your weight out on your bike equally, so both wheels hit the ground at the same time. If you get too high of a jump, and land on one wheel, it may pop, or you may even fall of your bike.

    Tips and Tricks
Now that you have succesfully learned how to Bunny Hop, try doing a few thing's.
Ride of a small landing. To do this succesfully, use Method One.
Try to jump up on a small curb or something elevated of the ground, use Method Two.
To start Bunny Hopping, try using a smaller bike.
Always wear a helmet at the least.
Try bringing a friend and a camera to record you, then see how your doing and what you can improve on.

I think my bike is a little too heavy. 600 dollar bike though, DK general lee.

Theres only like 100 of those from what I've heard..

But yeah, looks like a great tutorial and I'll have to try it on my brothers DK Six pack.

Thank's, and please do not think that just because your bike is heavy, you will not be able to do it. Just try it out on a smaller bike, and gradually work your way up. I can now easily Bunny Hop on my mountain bike, and trust me it is not the lightest thing around. Just take's a little bit of time and practice :p.

I have a 30$ piece of crap girls-bike-painted-black that can't weight more than 20kgs. As soon as it stops raining, I'm trying this. <3

How to Bunny Hop on your bike

Good guide, but since you mentioned a wheelie you should consider adding a guide on how to do that.

Tbh, I wouldn't suggest that. A wheelie, you have to pedal. What you're telling them to do is a manual. Manuals take a lot of balance, and aren't that great for new riders ;o. Imo, if you want to do an easy 'bunnyhop', pull up on the handle bars, and try to 'jump' then lean forward to get the bike level again.

Awesome guide, thanks a ton, I've always asked my friend how to do it because he knows how, but I guess he didn't know how to explain or something.

That picture with the guy in the air is a trials bike. Bunny-Hopping on those is nothing like on a BMX. Still a nice guide though.
