how would i show a pic appear in my sig without a link

hey.. i have a question even though it may sound a bit newby.. lol i am an apprentice and i've never even once tried to make a sig or an avatar well today i've decided to make since i am already pretty high ranked, and only noobs don't have avatars and sigs, anyways i was wondering how to make the picture in my sig appear without having to click a link cuz i know no one would. Everytime i try to upload it, it says invalid picture format or something like that, because i suppose its too big, so any way i can shrink the size cuz its 200kb and i need it to be around 20 and also make it appear without pressing a link thank you.

 

1) just because you're an apprentice doesn't mean you're high ranked .
2) Open Photoshop, save it as a .png or .JPEG (.png is better)
3) upload and put it here without the starts >.<

when i save it as png file it asks me about interlace, i have the options of answering none or interlaced :S what do i pick? and its still too big its 70kb now :S is there any way to cut down on the size excpet for making it in grayscale.. cuz i dun want it to be black and white

 

Just click none. Why should size matter as long as its' within the guidelines?
