[Guide] How to create a video on WMM (Windows Movie Maker)

    First things first!

Here is where to get a safe download for WMM: Click Here (For Windows XP users)

Click Here (For Windows Vista users)

Once you have the program installed, I bet you'd want to make your video straight away! Well then lets get to it :)!

Once you open WMM up, your screen should look something like this:

Well before you can do anything, you have to have a video clip. To record something, I Recommend using Hypercam 2. Which can be downloaded here
Information on how to use hypercam is most likely there for you, just click the tabs in the hypercam window and then edit the hotkeys to your liking.
After recording, you will have to play the clip in WMP (Windows Media Player) and save it, in order for it to become a file.
NOTE: If you want to play what you have recorded, you'll have to end the recording which is pushing the same key you used to start it.

Here's what it should look like:
This is what Hypercam 2 should look like

This is what should have popped up when you clicked 'play' on Hypercam 2
    [IMG]
Once you have dragged the clip from the folder into WMM, it should look like this.
To begin editing the video, you need to drag the clip down to the timeline which is done like so:
Once you have dragged it down, it should look a little something like this:

Anyway! When you have a video clip, your WMM should look at little like this:

Now that you have that done, I bet you'd really want to start editing this! Since WMM is very very basic, you should have no problem with this!

To get here, all you do is press the Efects word on the left hand side of the WMM. After you choose an effect to your liking, you should drag it down to where you would like it to take effect in your video.

    -----
To add transitions, all you do is press the transitions word on the left hand side of WMM.

    -----
In order to add a transition, you have to split a clip so there is time to put the transition in the video. In order to do this, you have to press the play button and then click split at the time you want the video to be in seperate clips.

    -----
After you click the split button, the clip should look a little like this
    [IMG]

    -----
To add a title to the video, you simply click Add title or credits. NOTE: To add "Title before the selected clip" you have to split the clip once again.

    -----
To add some music to your video, just click Audio or Music.

    -----
Once you have imported the music into WMM, you should drag it down to where it says Audio/Music
    [IMG]

    -----
To convert the movie in to the format that most websites need to upload, just press the "Publish Movie" button.

    -----
When you are here, just click Browse... To select a location for your movie to be published into.

    -----
When it is complete, it should look like it does below.

Right now, I'g figure that your all done the editing part of your video! Congratz! Now all there is left to do is to convert it into the necessary format to upload on some websites.

Here are a list of some wesbtes to upload videos on! (Click on them to go to the website)

    Putfile
    Youtube
    Filefront
