i found this out also, i think it just was started when the graphical update came out, dunno if its risky or not...ive used it..

 

It's not risky at all, it's exactly what you browser does when you click on the link....

Also that is low detail mode.

And yes you're correct, it did change when they updated their site because they removed the Redirection code from their HTML.
