[Denied] Suggestion: Allow Scammers to be Doxed

You do realize that your public info is already out there, right? Once a dox is removed from sythe, it may be accessible but you'd have to take extra steps to find it.

Competition of blackhats? Do you know what that word means? There is nothing blackhat about doxing someone. I think you may have watched one too many hacking movies on netflix.

Comparing someones dox to killing someone like they did centuries ago is comical. Good luck trying to help scammers change their ways when they feel no remorse and make a steady income off of helpless victims.

You're assuming that most scammers are kids and that by posting their dox they will all be swatted. Not true at all.

 

Doxing will never do anything. +, This isn't a shady forum, enabling doxing would literally make people not want to post anything at all.

People seem to be forgetting the print screen button or copy and paste, there is nothing stopping anyone from copying it and then re-uploading it elsewhere on any website, you are powerless to stop this if it happens.

 

You seem to be forgetting that there's many public databases on the clearnet and darknet that have your name, addy, phone number, and ssn, so what's your point? Your information is already out there. If somebody wants it they'll find it, whether it's ever posted here or not.

Can't believe the number of people that thinks it's okay to scam others and not face any serious consequences. And no, banning someone is not a serious consequence.

 

I didn't read any responses, just the initial suggestion. However, if this was allowed then what would make us any better than those people that have been banned in the past for doxxing?

Scammers are scum. That can be agreed upon. But, do we really want to open that door for others?

Man I don't know how this thread is still open. Doxing has no positive results. The only reason you dox someone and release their information is so that something bad can happen to them or they can be intimidated into paying you back in one way or another. Do you seriously disagree with that statement, @Damn Im Evil? There are marketplaces out there that allow that type of behavior, if you want to be on those, then go to them, Sythe would never allow that kinda bad publicity here.

I'm already a member on those forums and doxing itself does no harm. What people do with the dox is what could be considered harmful.

No you moron. The point is to prevent scams on a large scale, not to protect my own interest. But I can see why that may be a difficult concept to understand for someone as selfish as yourself.

 

I'm not seeing the relation between your personal attacks against me and the actual point at hand.

Low profile scams get forgotten about, and high profile scams are so rare and even if they did happen would likely be resolved off site. Who exactly would this be protecting? When a person joins the site ban evading and scams, he/she, I would imagine, but open to an example, doesn't even have enough identifying information to be doxed anyway.

This protects every sythe user from people who redundantly scam. The theory is that less people would scam if there was a serious consequence such as having their dox posted publicly for them to be shamed.

When was the last high profile scam before Chivalry? edit - who is Chivalry?

How about if someone built up a fake profile for themselves online where everything matched a real person, yet it wasn't them, and then scammed and that person's information was released here? How do you defend against something like that? What about the person's family who doesn't deserve to be involved in things but all of their information will also be public to the internet? There is more at stake here than the perpetrator and the victim.

 

Which part of having their dox posted with "SUFFICIENT PROOF" did you not understand. (Had to post in caps again, get those eyes checked)

Also, I don't think any scammer would go as far as to steal someones identity in order to steal gold on a forum.
If someone's willing to do something that unethical and has the resources for it, then they would be doing other activities like carding, not scamming RSGP.
