    The Existence of God

    Here's your answer.
How do you know God has not provided evidence of his existence? Perhaps certain people (or everyone) are simply incapable of comprehending it.

    -- Also

Thank you for quoting me out of context. Just in case you "accidentally" didn't read everything that I wrote, here it is again, from my previous post... LOL.

Here's what I said only a few sentences before that.

    Pretty ridiculous answer you got.

How do you think miricals work?
    How were we made?
How do we live the perfect lives we do ?
How are you sitting there, with your working brain, making decisions whether god is real or not?

    God
    baby ;)

    The Existence of God

    Failure on many degrees.

We have discussed miracles, of course, how do you know these "miracles" are not happening because of anything scientific? Furthermore, Have you actually seen any of this? If you truly want to see something, your brain will trick you in to believing that you saw it. There was a thread a while back about ghosts, some kid posted a picture which had absolutely no relevance to ghosts whatsoever, as it was more or less random shapes in dust.

How were we made? Nothing cannot just be "made" out of nothing. Consider this to baking a cake. One must first gather the raw materials. After these materials are processed, there is a mix which is the uncooked version of the cake. Have you ever studied the theory of evolution? Or are you just being ignorant because you're afraid of uncovering something completely against your very beliefs?

Your third question is complete and utter bullshit. No-one has a perfect life, but if I must answer the question "How do we live?", allow me to explain. We are biological organisms. We breathe, we eat, we produce waste, as does every other living thing. We produce energy for our bodies to function by many means, like respiration and eating. This chemical energy is then consumed by your body in order to function, and of course, what is left over is waste (i.e. Carbon dioxide, urine etc). These are the fundamentals, or did you never go to school?

The fourth question is of course obvious, and the answer is within the very question. I am sitting here because I sat down in my chair. The brain is indeed the part of your body which makes decisions. Therefore, I am using my brain to make decisions about God. If you would like to know how I can make decisions with my brain, maybe you could go to medical school and do neural research.

Are you just going to dodge everything that has been said, or are you going to actually provide proof? "Miracles" are not proof. The unknown is not proof, because it is unknown. The bible is not proof, because it is scriptures written by MAN. The masses are not proof, they just do whatever they're told. Proof of God is something you will never come across, and faith is an irrational gamble.

THANK YOU! The whole point of a God is to have faith. It comes down to decision whether or not to believe.

If God ever gave proof of himself, that would mean he had interfered with human will to choose whether to believe or not. Therefore, God cannot give proof in this day and age.

The piont is, no matter how stupid the FSM sounds, or any other made up fairy tale, they are no different to god. Also, i think we are very much capable of comprehending god, and if god did attempt to reveal himself then he should be able to because isnt god all powerfull?

Because if god wanted to provide evidence, he would make sure we would be able to see it.

    The Existence of God

It proves that a God cannot be omnipotent, rendering impossible the God that about half of the world's population believes in.

To me, God is the supernatural, the paranormal, everywhere it has been believed in, and everywhere it will be believed in. This is what I argue against.

Listen, son, before you just pop into SFA with all of your pomp and arrogance, check to make sure you're not attacking one of the people who will verbally, and logically, tear you to pieces.

    They don't.

    Evolution.

Note that in this case, attributing our creation to a divine creator solves nothing, because it raises the even larger question of "Who created the creator?". Any creator that designed us must be at least as complex (and therefore as improbable) as us, if not more so.

    We don't.

Bible. Jesus. Miracles. Ringing any bells?

Faith is an irrational gamble. I have stated this.

I find it funny that you cannot provide "proof" now, but when Jesus was around, he was performing miracles right before people's very eyes!

    The Existence of God

FSM is a description of God, not what God actually may or may not be. The description of God may be ridiculous, but his/her existence may be reasonable.

Why do you think are we capable of comprehending god? Assuming God would exist, he/she would be superior to humans. Therefore could we truly be capable of comprehending the entirety of God?

Assuming God exists, he would be superior to you. Why do you believe you can comprehend his actions? Where is your proof that God "would make sure we would be able to see it?" That's a groundless assertion.

And how do you know it was because of something scientific? Just because miracles in the past have been disproved by science, doesn't mean that future ones will as well. Where is the proof that there is a scientific answer? It sounds like you're expecting us to simply "believe" that there is a scientific answer. Aren't you trying to argue against simply "believing?"

No, it argues that Omnipotence is impossible. By stating Omnipotence is impossible, you're trying to prove that God cannot be "all-powerful." However, that question is still a liar paradox. Why? Because you're stating an Omnipotent being cannot fail even in situations where failure is unavoidable. However, by that logic, an Omnipotent being that cannot fail, is not Omnipotent. Why? Because that means the being "cannot cannot," it is not "all powerful" because it is incapable of failure. How could an Omnipotent be incapable of something =O? You see, the "rock" argument is merely an indirect attempt to disprove God by trying to define Omnipotence as an impossible trait. As I said, the question cannot be answered using formal logic. See Liar Paradox.

I see. However, could you elaborate on what you define "the supernatural, the paranormal" as? What attributes does this entail? Additionally, are you suggesting that the concept of God includes "everywhere it has been believed in, and everywhere it will be believed in?" It's good that we're defining exactly what we are trying to argue against.

    The Existence of God

Never did i say the FSM was a god. The piont is, Any stupid idea you can think of, you cannot disprove it, and has no prove supporting it, which is exactly the same as god.

Just because he is superior doesnt mean we cant see a mountain move. Dude, There are people capable is amazing things. You think we can work out laws of physics, the atomic theory, that we cannot see the outside force of god?

If god wanted us to see, which he obviously does since he wants us to believe in him, then it would be in his power to do so. All he needs to do is say, hey look at mount Everest, now watch me move it. It would be VERY easy to prove that you where god if you where.
Also, are you forgeting that in the bible god sent jesus down to do all sorts of miracles? this was all the actions of god and people could see them. Your

Your arguement is silly, You act as if we are too stupid too see gods work, and that god infact doesnt want people too see. yet the bible states the oppersite.

And as for the superior crap, You could say we a superior to dogs, yet they can see our actions. If god was apart of the formula it would have shown up by now

dude dont go there. If so many of previous "miracles" have been disproved why still beleive in the ones that havnt yet? There is a scientific reason behind everything, if there was this outside force of god we would of noticed by now. And "simply believing" is the biggest piece of nieve shit there is. just believing is being lazy and deciding not to seek the truth.

    The Existence of God

God could not be logically contradicting, so why couldn't we comprehend her?

An excellent question. First and foremost, know that reality is logical and causative. All of reality that has been observed has been causative. The weight of this evidence is so massive that to believe in a miracle, the miracles non-happening would have to be more miraculous than the miracle itself. You can thank Hume for that argument.

If we accept that omnipotence is the ability to do anything, with zero limitations, even basic logical ones, then it is clear that omnipotence is impossible. However, we can redefine it for the purposes of this debate if you like.

By showing that omnipotence is impossible, it shows that the most popular God is impossible, and that the theist must acknowledge that God cannot be omnipotent.

The supernatural/paranormal are those things said to be "above" the laws of science, nature, logic, etc. They include ghosts, psychics, nature worship, and the like.

Usually I assume that we're debating the Judeo-Christian God, an intelligent supernatural being that created the universe, is very powerful, etc. However, I'm open to redefining God if a different one is believed in.

That's really quite a stupid notion you have there, my friend. There has not been a chance for Science to study such matters because of the religious base around it!

I would expect anyone to know the truth once it has been proved. Science has proved many things, while religion branded the minds behind this proof as heretics; Galileo, for example, stated that the Earth revolved around the sun, and got trialed. Most often, these "miracles" appear to only one person or a group of people with similar interests. For all we know, they could be made up to gather attention, and because the results were not known until they were brought up, there is not even a hypothesis or inference to work on. That being said, we cannot provide proof of something which cannot be repeated. I again bring up this point: The burden of proof is upon the believer. Especially in this case.

Until the believer can provide proof of his claim, in the interests of science the claim is false.

    Here's what puzzles me:

Humans are essentially scientists. We work things out on the basis of reason, and find out truths on the basis of evidence. When you work out a math problem, it is done with reason. When you want to know whether or not your girlfriend is home, you check the driveway for her car.

Now, here's the tricky part - despite all of this, humans still believe some things on faith, and some things without evidence. Why is this? Surely you must have SOME evidence of your beliefs?

Well maybe thats just me but hey what can I say there no way to change anybody's mind, I geuss everyone's different.

Have you ever considered that you believe simply because you were raised to believe? After all, it's what a huge chunk of the world's population does.

    You're just a troll, aren't you?

The book of mormon is full of bullshit. Like, how it claims that native americans were white and that human life originated in America (even though it has been proven that human life originated in Africa)... And somehow, dinosaur bones were placed in the ground by Satan in order to lure us away from God, however that would work.
