I think it turned out pretty well, but I'm still at a loss with text.

You should use a larger canvas.

 

Ariel is a good font choice. You can try Serif too. The only time it's good to use other types of font is if it fits in it.
The new signature that you made looks sharp, and your text is roundish, which doesn't fit very well.

 

Ok, thank you. But what would be a good size for the sig?

 

I think it would look better with a solid border and better font choice.

 

A good size for a signature is 300 X 130.

That background is decent. You should have tried and spent some time blending the render into the background as well. Also a larger canvas would have been better. The text is horrible and needs work. Try using normal original text like Ariel, etc.

 

Okay, here is my new one. I have no idea how to blend renders into backgrounds, though.
