Is RS3 Worth Playing in 2018?

Im starting to miss playing RS3, is it worth playing right now? whats the community like and is there many impressive updates? PS i haven't played since 2014.

 

Up to you. In a sense of making money out of i'd stick with OSRS. Played RS3 casually for fun but with the new combat system it feels so stale if you aren't going into high tier pvm with teams and what not. Wouldn't be fair to compare the current EoC to the one on release as it has gone through many many changes and has improved quite a lot.

I asked some of my friends that are still playing RS and has since early 2000s. Seems like it's mostly about having put that time into the game with grinding xp, they're all around 3-4bil total xp.

Personally I wouldn't get into RS3 at this current time if you haven't already invested enough time in what ever it would be, be it xp/pvm/luring. Oldschool is definitely the future of Runescape.

 

it is definitely worth playing now that 07 staking is dead. plenty of demand for rs3 now and even sparc mac has been promoting it.

 

It all depends on what you find enjoyment in. Some players like a more strategic style of combat, resulting in them still playing in RS3. Some players don't like the complexity behind the game, which makes them go play 07. If you find enjoyment in the combat system then I say go for it or at least try it out for an extended period of time. If you feel that you don't like it then I recommend continuing to play 07

 

I personally hate RS3. It just doesn't feel the same to me. I'd try it out for yourself though!

The only feature i always liked from the eoc was dungeonearring, everytning else is just too much

 

Huge emphasis on end-game content. You need to do a lot of grinding for stats + untradeables. Not my cup of tea

 

It's all really personal preference. You should try out both servers (07 & RS3) and see what suits you the most.

 

There's been a lot of new endgame content since '14. Usually I advise people to stick to OSRS because its a lot more familiar to old players, but if you've already come to terms with how Rs3 works in the past I'd say give it another shot.

The updates have been slowing down over the years for non-pvm related stuff so keep that in mind if you don't enjoy that aspect of the game.

 

I've been trying to get back into it and I say no. All the game is dead content besides end game. Good luck getting into any PVM groups without maxed gear and prior knowledge. If you're trying to learn, good luck, nobody will give anyone without max gear and experience the time of day.

 

It really depends on what you enjoy/don't enjoy. If you are a fan of grinding/end game content, then yeah you should totally look into it.

 

I just recently started playing RS3 along side of OSRS, As I'm looking to have something to play on the side of OSRS while I skill and what not. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into the combat. It made the game feel tacky to me.
In a lot of ways, OSRS (really just RS in general, the original)
Has ruined me for other MMO's, because I feel the same way about RS3 as I do WOW/LoL/Guild Wars, etc.

 

I currently play both versions of RuneScape. If you're like me and got somewhat bored of the bossing content in 07, you should test it back out. Overall RS3 is a relaxing game, and people pretty much unanimously throw shade it at because of EoC and fast xp rates.

 

Try both and see what experience you like more personally I go back in forth when I get tired of one I play the other

To be honest I genuinely enjoy the fast paced nature of EOC over OSRS. This is because I value my time over anything else. If I can train combat at 1.2m /h over like 100k/h on OSRS id much rather play EOC so I can reach end game content much quicker.

Thats just my two cents tho.
