I searched Microsoft.com for Firefox and that website wasn't there. Are you sure it wasn't just a joke promotion?

This is what makes me suspicious of this site:
Also, the many tabs for features are extremely stupid and joke-like. I think you'd have noticed this.

What in the world are you talking about? Firefox does not come with any spyware/adware and chances are it was from some other foolishness of yours. Please do not tell me you are an internet explorer fanboy. IE has so many purposely implemented, yes purposely implemented holes in it put in by Microsoft that allows a person to remotely install trojans, spyware etc on your computer just by opening the browser.

If it installed Adware, do you think it would have over 8,000,000 downloads?

I hope you realise that that is a joke... A completely untrue dig at Microsoft made by some open-source nut.

Anyways, I found it funny that a major security vulnerability was found in Fx3 the day after it was released. "Yay! 8,002,530 people have to update!!"

Anyways, I prefer Opera. It's much better in every possible way.

I take it you're talking about ActiveX?
Yes, that was the case in the past, but now every ActiveX control needs strict permission from the user to run. In Vista, ActiveX controls embedded in web pages cannot touch the rest of the operating system.

IE8 improves even more on this. The whole ActiveX security issue will be a moot point within a few years.

Anyway, Firefox plugins are just as easy to exploit as ActiveX. Don't assume every extension for Firefox is safe - because they aren't.

Firefox is also a memory hog (despite improvements in Fx3) and is slow when rendering pages.

It also (for me) set itself as my default browser when I installed it. I could not disable this 'feature'. This is something the open-source community has always criticised Microsoft for (and MS actually got sued for making IE the default browser in Windows) yet they're doing the same thing. Unwanted modification of system settings is a characteristic of malware. Chew on that, Firefox fanboys.

Anyway, I suggest everyone use Opera. As I said before, It's superior to Firefox in almost every way. There's really no need for plugins/extensions because Opera has everything you'll need built in. Opera is faster than Firefox, uses less memory, looks better and renders pages better.

Also, I suggest you try out IE8 when it's released early next year. It's shaping up to be good.

I downloaded it on Download Day. For the first few hours that FF3 was released the Mozilla website was down.

I prefer Opera over Firefox though.

IE8 Beta already failed in my opinion. Its slow as ever and the skin is horrible. Considering its a beta, I might give it a try. But its Microsoft, so you never know.

IE8 Beta 1 was targetted at web developers, not end users. It's not supposed to look attractive or run quickly. It's purpose was to demo new features (better rendering, etc) to people who need to make the appropriate changes to their websites to accomodate the new browser.

I'm sure they'll improve on stability, look and feel and performance in future BETAs.
