I use C# for prototyping and I have absolutely no problem with that - It's there when I need it, and I quite enjoy utilizing all of the available classes of the .Net framework. In other words, it's actually a very nice language to use.

I do like Java, too, but I find that C# is more accomodating to what I would normally do. Java is more of an internet oriented language, see. C# on the other hand is more for practical application development. Though it may be limited to Windows, that's no reason to say it sucks, either.

Not to mention, you act as if Microsoft is a bad company. I can agree that I'm less than impressed with a lot of the stuff that they come up with, and a lot of the stuff they have done, but they do indeed provide for my needs as being each a student, a computer programmer and a casual gamer. You may note that Linux (or most UNIX based operating systems, for this matter) don't have very good graphical API's to work with (which is why Windows is such an ideal gaming platform). The graphical API's were never intended for an original server-based OS - indeed, my installation of Gentoo is strictly text-only. For this reason, I will tend to use Windows a lot more for my graphical interface needs as Linux does not require interfaces, and the command prompt of Windows is extremely limited to the point that I seldom use it and grudgingly use the GUI.

Nonetheless, it's all a matter of oppinion, however each language has it's pro's and con's. So what if C# was made as a rip of Java? The technology world is full of people copying each other. What about the OS to first have graphical user interfaces? Do you think that would be a plausable reason to sue someone in today's modern time? I state again - C# IS useful, and not many people around here have much of an intention of developing practically useful applications for powerful server operating systems, so we'll leave it at that.

Hopefully you'll read this post after you come back (if at all) from being temporarily banned. And try to take care in what you post. Trolling a very practical thread doesn't help at all. It isn't as if the OP is an attention whore or complete idiot (though I have seen some prime examples in the last month), so lay back on the offensive, okay?
