Change An extension file to anything.

My First Guide. Be nice0rz :)

    What this is....
This is a very simple way to change a file extension to anything you want just by using your computer. Wether it be change a video file to something not open able to you parents *cough*Pr0nz*cough* Though YOU can easily change it back. I hope you enjoy it.

Step One: Create A new Folder in "Documents and Settings" Name it Whatever you want. For example i named mine "Sythe Guide"

Step Two: Put the file you want to get its extension changed in there. Mines a text document named "dannis trinh" as you can see its a text document by the end of this its going to be dannis trinh.sythe Note: You can only have one file at a time in the folder.

Step three: Open up Run. Type CMD and press enter, an African American box should come up. Copy or paste
    Code:
cd C:\Documents and Settings\(whatever you named the new file)
    So mine would be
    Code:
    cd C:\Documents and Settings\Sythe Guide
After that is done it should now look like this
    [IMG]

If not? then redo all the steps and see if its correct then.

    Next step is optional

Step (wait what step are we up to?): To find if you have the right folder type
    Code:
    dir
in the box to see if you have the right folder. Then we have some mumbo Jumbo but look for the file name. It should look like this

    Last Step Yay
    :

Okay now that we have all of this copy
    Code:
    rename *.* *.zip
into the Cmd Box. Change the "Zip" into what ever file extension you want. Dont Change the *.* *. leave it as it is. It worked perfectly for me here is my results...

For any questions Post here i hope you enjoyed my Guide.

Useful and well written. You should add maybe a paragraph explaining what the guide teaches you and what it can be used for.

or depending on your version of windows you right click it say rename and chage it there... can't do it on vista, maybe on xp but i dunno, or you could open it with notepad and save as... i think that works too... :O...

your *.* *.sythe will just remane all the files to .sythe.... so if you want just one you should tell them how to do that.... :O

    Very nice. :) Useful, well-written. <3

can't imagine why I would use it. Parents/gf/friends don't know anything about file extensions.

*open this .bat in your computer ^^"*

Can I change it to .3gp? If yes, will the video be accesible to my phone, which means that it can be depicted and not corrupted when seeing it in phone? Answer this please, as I will not use my converter. It just takes too long for my porno lol.
