    Mozilla Did It!

For those of you who didn't know, Mozilla (makers of Firefox) planned and succeeded the world record for most downloads of a single program in a single day. 8,002,530 people downloaded Firefox 3 in one day.

For more info, the website is here: Spread Firefox | Download Day 2008

I'm surprised they made it, I thought allot of people would download it before the date.

    Another pointless stat-counting goal acchieved!

Overall I'm happy with the browser, and I would use it over Internet Explorer. That is all that I am required to say.

FF3 is okay but I hate the stupid book mark star thing. It's annoying and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Other than that, there's no big difference between FF2 and FF3 to me.

Mozilla is a 3rd party company with free open source contributions to practically anyone with any type of computer. I doubt they would sell off to Microsoft unless they really had no choice.

My personal preference is actually Apple Safari 3, though it runs to an inferior standard on Windows, I've seen.

Loads pages exceedingly fast on my computer compared to other browsers.

    Anyway, on to the point:

Firefox 3 has more subtle changes than changes the user would notice at first. Sure, the interface has changed, but that was only so that it may look more "natural" to the OS in use. A lot of Firefox 3's improvements are in things such as security, parsing and displaying the information correctly.

I've actually looked at a very small portion of the code, and I can say I'm impressed.
