ZellePay?

Does anyone know if it's possible for someone to file a chargeback after they send you a payment via Zelle? :/

 

You can dispute a zelle payment through your bank. I had too do it before a year ago when I sent the money too the wrong person . Took 2 phone calls and the money was back in my account instantly. Then they did a investigation and I got a letter in the mail saying it was decided in my favor ,

 

What sort of investigation was done? Can the person the payment was sent to dispute this aswell with evidence (if the payment was sent correctly) ?

 

Yeah I have bank of America , I called them up explained what happened they told me too dispute through zelle. I called them back and told them I couldn't speak too no one through zelle because there customer service sucked. They instantly refunded me the $ while they did a investigation . Idk what there investigation detailed but I'm sure they called zelle told them there was a dispute . About a month ish later I got a letter in the mail saying that it was decided in my favor. If it wasn't decided in my favor they would of re taken the 80$ or so that they put back in my account back out .

 

Idk Zelle might be considered an ACH payment so you may be out of luck if the person provides proof you sent it to the right person. I had a similar problem with the friends and family on PayPal. I tried to dispute with my bank and they said ACH payments are prior authorization of payment or some shit.

 

yeah idk ^ i had proof that i sent it too the wrong person because i showed them the texts of the number he told me too send it too and my fat fingers typing it a letter off, i was actually more suprised that someone had a zelle acc that was 1 number off then my friends number lol

 

Yes ZellePay is reversible. It is much more cumbersome to get a reversal on Zelle done, but it is possible.

If you want a more secure route, always crypto, WU, gold.
