Overrated Animes

Mostly personal opinion backed with legitimate reasoning. The fact that I haven't seen many shonen animes, especially the ones that are supposedly like MHA, (Naruto, HxH & Assassination classroom) should mean that the recycled storyline shouldn't apply to me as much. However, when it came to the characters and storyline, it was the most predictable and cliche shit I could ever imagine. Most of the characters are irrelevant and provide no interesting background towards the storyline (besides Shoto). The main character was immediately ruined by giving him the most powerful quirk and on top of this he's the most annoying ass bitch I have ever seen in any anime, Deku literally just cries and whines about doing what's right.

My perspective on the term overrated is if it is deserving of the success and hype it gets. I believe that it's possible for a new anime user to enjoy MHA if they're small-minded or have no expectations going into the series. For example, I used to enjoy watching Yu-Gi-Oh (a show I had never heard about) when I was a kid, but rewatching it a year ago made me realise how poorly written the show was despite how original/good the concept was. As @WantaCookie said, stating whether or not an anime is overrated can be seen as a review as long as it can be backed by reasonable judgement.

I've seen the first two seasons and I must admit that the second season is still garbage, but better than the first season by far. With this being said I don't think I'm going to continue watching MHA just for the cool fighting animations and Shoto's storyline.

I totally disagree with you. Sure naruto had alooooot of fillers but when it comes to battle scenes, characters etc. i would say naruto is one of the best.

 

I can name so many more animes that are better than Naruto but wont ever get credit because the hype isn't there

Actually, I feel that the "classic" anime made by Hayao Miyazaki are extremely overrated. Not saying I don't like them tho
