[DENIED] Adding non spam forums section to discord

No point, community has already conformed to the idea that discord is for kek's and that we can have fun there trolling or having a good time, you don't have to be there if you don't want to. Plus people have normal conversations there all the time so, no support.

 

I can't say I have any real reasons against it, I just like Discord being a more relaxed version of Sythe and having it less restrictive (spam forum rules) makes it more enjoyable.

 

Support. It’s seems unprofessional for a new person to join the official Sythe discord and immediately they get bombarded with unwarranted aggression. (No hate to the people that do it, I do it all the time :^)

 

Support. I'd like to see this as well, would be nice to have a place to talk without idiots blowing up the chat sometimes. Could be useful when its after school hours and the 14 year olds get loud and wanna have internet drama/spam fights

 

I support this suggestion, going to leave it open for other feedback on it.

Myself personally, I don't get involved with the spam side of things, so I could see this as a benefit to myself. Regardless, I will see what the community thinks.

 

Would like to bump this, it would be nice for the community to have a more serious side after standing back and looking at the big picture, so not everyone needs to participate in spam related stuff, can also be professional, also I quoted you Champ as maybe to add to this, could a suggestions section also be added to discord? As a way for members to discuss things more freely off forum and then move it onsite if it appears to have good feedback?

Let’s not get this confused, I DO enjoy the spam forum and I do partake in the spam forum section of Sythe.
However; I am not very active on the Discord, reason being is I do most of my Sythe use on Mobile
(70-80%)
Because it’s Mobile, I have to silent the Discord, and I only respond to the Discord if I am tagged.
Having the Discord changed to the general rules of Sythe would allow for quality conversation / Questions / Concerns/ Suggestions etc.
This would open the door for mobile users like me, to allow notifications for the Sythe Discord and play an active rule in it, due to it not being blown up with random trolling and such.
Once again, I still think the Spam Forum rules is valuable, but containing it to a specific area would be great and allow for new people to not feel “Left out” in the convo.
I know I felt like that about the spam forum when I was a first time user of the website.
So much trolling going on that it’s hard for a new user to discern where they can jump in and be accepted.
Just my two cents!

 

support. I do not participate iin the discord simply cause its just spam and trolling most the time, unless I am tagged. A new section like this would be nice for things that can be taken more serious.

 

you can set it so only certain roles can access certain text/voice channels. they can just set it to verified+

This would only separate activity that is already sparse. No support.

 

Support, it would also give new members a better intro into the discord rather than being thrown straight into the current one thats there.

 

My quandaries are:

1. Would people actually use it? Last time no one did.
2. What would it be used for? There's a few obviously spammy things, but I doubt even if we did have it, that'd it'd be much different than our current chat. And how would we punish people who "spam" it? Kicking them or infracting them seems like a high price when maybe they thought they weren't spamming.

I don't know, if you don't think about it, it sounds nice, but when I think about it in practice it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

 

Can we post porn and gore? if yes, then support.

 

Apart from occasional outbursts we don't seem to have any real issues of toxic behaviour, when we do they seem to fizzle out after awhile. The users who are active on a day to day basis aren't vicious trolls, if the discord was to be changed I don't think there'd be a big change on the amount of users who actively use it. The change could have an adverse affect and lower the activity.
