I listen to both, But i do preffer Punk/Hardcore. But i will have to vote for Rap, Since i listen to a bit more.

 

rock is the best.... rap all ppl do is talk.. although i do like some songs.. i prefer listening to rock which actually has some music sorry to those who like rap.

Rock is my preferred genre, I don't mind rap occasional but I'd rather listen to rock or hip-hop.

 

Rock > Rap, although I've heard some pretty kickass beats that accompany the rap itself.

i like rock because it takes talent to play an instrument takes time,dedication and persistence of practicing.Rapping is just rhyming about pretty much the same subject.Takes very little skill to do.With rock or metal,etc.You eed to know music theory,a lot of it because music theory helps with coordination in the band and proper technique everything flows better in my opinion.Takes way more time and talent to do such just remember that anybody can rhyme but not everyone can learn guitar.

I vote for rap, mostly because I was raised on rap music. So there's my vote.

 

Don't say things like this unless you want to get flamed. If rap takes little skill why don't you become one and become rich? If its so easy to be a rap star why isn't all rock bands changing to rap genres? Don't post stupid remarks as if you knew what you're saying when you know little about the subject.

 

I can't stand rap. I like trance etc: but I'd pick rock out of the two.

The reason he can't become a famous rapper is because it's hard to become famous... for anything. The actual making of the music of rap is simple, but to get famous takes years and/or a family member already famous.. plus the image, rap is all about your image, not wholly the music.

 

It's not really about your image, I mean look at Lupe Fiasco. When he come out with kick and push, the image of hip-hop and rap was "gangster looking" and he came out looking like a skater, Yet he still became famous. So what I'm telling you, it's not the image. I have no idea where you got that from. It's the music and what you say in your song.
