The Intelligince Decrease In New Sythe Members. (AKA New Members are Stupid)

Ok, ive been on here a year or so and when i joined you could sit around and have a intelligent discussion with most members here. Now, you can look through posts and most people just comment stupid stuff.... Do you believe that the intelligence of our members is decreasing with each wave of noobs comming to the site?

 

Noobs=general population.
General population=stupid

The people who stick around are generally the more intelligent, above average people who put down/ban the relentless noobs.

Agreed, some of them have shown some form of intelligence, but most
I fear for their health.

 

Although you probably think i'm new to this site, but i am the owner of the account 'Tyson' which i lost. I made it in early 2007 i think, maybe February or April. It had 900 post count etc. So i've seen a bit in my time, what really annoys me is all the new members posting in the wrong section.

 

Although you are correct, It is also because they are younger, back when you first started (assuming you have been here for some time) I am sure you posted your fair share of ignorant posts.

 

yeah I know what u mean. Plus I might not look like I have a high amount of posts but I was mods at 2 other sites and was active at many others so I know what Im tlaking about.

The new wave of people do not know what theyre talking about, and over the years cheating in rs has become harder, and seeing as they do not understand simple concepts anymore (and the concepts have gotten larger), it is becoming more and more complicated to deal with them. Bummer really =[

Well anyway, it would seem that this is true, but I think the user ed section encourages people to be more than just a '1337' account seller.

 

You're all agreeing to a very wrong idea. It's not that their intelligence has dropped, it is that their wisdom is not equivocal to yours. The problem being that, where you have been here for a longer amount of time, they have not had that pleasure. Thus, they are automatically less knowledgeable in areas that you have spent quite some time around.

Yes, several members have lost their intelligence, but this is not due to new members, it is due to the loss of old members who were quite good at discussion. With the new members flooding, and the old members being lost in the numbers, we've lost the sense of community.

Whereas, I speak before my time, but in the years before 2007, Sythe was much smaller, and the discussion rate was much higher. Going clear back to '05, I'm sure that several members from that era enjoyed their piers, and disliked the noobs just as much as you.


All good things come with time, for time is the creator of all good things.

If you are so quick to call them idiots, they will never learn, but if you work with them, they can easily become more intelligent, and probably even more knowledgeable than you.

 

That was basically what I am getting at , but I can see there side of it aswell beings there are quite a few people that come to this site that are beyond help in my eyes.

lol I don't feel that I know everything. I simply have a strong will and it is hard for someone to break my will in order for them to make me submit to there ideals of the topic, Basically when I have ran out of thoughts of how your idea's of the topic are wrong and cannot answer the ones you gave I will admit defeat, as I believe I have to you and shredder a couple of times.

Anyways. I've been here since November and I don't think I'm a "dumb" poster. I always post my point if I want to, weather it agrees or disagrees with someone. Most of the time its new people who make bull-shit threads so I just get them angry with my "big words".

Nonetheless it is free entertainment I suppose. Most of them are banned within a few weeks anyway.
