What approach should I take to get unbanned from OSRS?

Hey guys so on January 9th of 2015 I got perm banned from OSRS for macro major (as well as a 2 day ban for bot busting) and apparently got reported twice in the same day according to the offence list: Screenshot - 17ab456daacfde0b4fe92332a162879a - Gyazo

I have submitted 1 appeal before but it got denied by Mod Cole: Screenshot - 2392ded462aa8871a4686e24c91f69c1 - Gyazo
But apparently she doesn't work there anymore so I could always try re-appealing and getting a different mod, which I am in the process of doing and its been ~3 days since.

Now I want to tweet at some of the mods but I am unsure what path I should take. Should I take the path of saying I got hacked and someone else botted for me? Or should I take the path of I've changed over the past 3 and a half years and I just want 1 last chance?
*I did use a VPN a lot for botting but I slipped up a couple times I think and ran a bot on my home IP address so would that still work?

Does anyone in there experience know which path guarantees more success? Is it the "I got hacked" or "I'm sorry and I'm a different/changed person after this elongated period of time"?

TLDR: Should I tell Jmods I got hacked and someone else botted for me because sometimes I would use a VPN or should I tell them I'm sorry and I'd like 1 last chance?

That sucks, I feel like after 3.5 years they should at least give you 9 blackmarks instead of 10. Do you think reaching out to Jagex on twitter ever helps?
