What was Sythe Like During its prime

Sythe is a pretty quiet place now, but it wasn't always like that. I remember like 4-5 years ago, me and Arcus were slinging crazy amounts of gold. We're talking $50,000 USD worth at a time. Massive stacks. The money felt like it was never gonna stop. At one point I shit you not, the guy lit a cigar from a band of $100 bills. He was consumed by the money and the fame.

The fame was the other thing. We didn't realize selling big fat piles of gold would bring that kind of thing. But it did. We became almost overnight heroes to the Sythe community. The next thing you knew, Arcus had this groupie forum chick just following him around everywhere. She was pretty hot, but I could tell she was crazy as fuck. I told him to be careful with her, she had a high post count but joined only a month ago.

He was too far gone though. Between lighting $10,000 USD on fire and the fame and accolades of being a top gold seller, it had gone to his head. He started handing this forum chick wads of cash. Told her to go buy herself something nice. Meanwhile he's out here wearing Party Hats to the club and just generally being a pompous motherfucker. We all told him he'd lost it. The money got to him. Fame got to him.

Next thing you know this bitch finds his Skype password, all hell breaks loose. She scams everybody. I mean everyone. You'd be hard pressed to find one Sythe user who didn't get swindled by this gold groupie. She walked away with millions. And we all tell Arcus what happened, expecting him to freak the fuck out. Dude doesn't even flinch. Throws a couple million to the Sythe repayment fund, spends less than 24h in the ban tank, dude is right back it.

Those were some crazy years man. Definitely the peak of Sythe.

I'm sure Sythe is still the same sort of community, even if quieter. I can only assume the Discord provides the same sort of entertainment that the Sythe IRC used to.

I remember running into some trouble when someone scammed another user - I sort of got banned by association (everything went down during a period of a few days where I hadn't been online so was weird/confusing to log into). I ran a free dung botting service and was getting mad busy with it - an old user PM'ed me offering to join the service and I stupidly agreed without really knowing anything about him other than him being an old account.

Before I really had a full grasp of what had happened, @video had given the affected party his losses (100M RSGP) - which blew me away because I didn't know him on a personal level (only interaction would have been the same as with any other active user of the forum). Offered to repay him when I could scrape the GP together and he told me to not worry about it and that he just wanted to help me out of the shitty situation - which was completely awesome of him.
