Brand new PSU popped and causing power outage?

    Hey,

yesterday I finally decided to upgrade my PSU. My old one (Silverstone ST65ZF) wasn’t feeding enough power to my GPU so it was causing for my computer to just randomly shut off when under load. I went for a Cooler Master V750 ( V750 | Cooler Master )

I plugged it into my PC, set everything up and ran my PC. Everything was running smoothly for a few hours until I tried to start Quake Champions (might be completely irrelevant). First my computer shuts off, I hear a semi-loud pop from inside my computer and then the power in my apartment cuts out. I go to check the fuse box and the fuse has switched off (not sure if these switch fuses are only a thing in Finland). I try to switch it back on but the power wont come back on. I go to my computer and switch off the power supply, then once I switch the fuse back on after the power comes back on. I go to switch on the power supply and the fuse switches off again.

This PSU should be plenty of watts for my PC setup, even according to the calculator on the Cooler Master website, but incase anyone is interested or will find it helpful, currently running this setup:

i7-8700k @ 4,2GHz at the time this happened
    Corsair H60 liquid cooler
    ASUS Z370-P Prime
    32Gigs of DDR4
    Sapphire AMD R9 380

    and well, my now-dead PSU

I tried running my PC with the old PSU again just to see that there was no damage to the other parts, and it was running fine.

I’m just puzzled because its a brand new PSU and as far as I know its supposed to be a decent one aswell. I’m going out to the store to switch it for a new one or for another one (hoping that warranty will cover that...) but if anyone knows what could possibly be the cause of this, I would very much like to prevent it from happening again.

    Thanks in advance.

Might just be bad luck and a bad PSU that’s doa. If you want another PSU that’s quality over price, go for bitfenix. 600w should be plenty if you’re not overclocking.

Turned out to be just a faulty PSU. Went to the store where I bought it from and replaced it with the same model and been running with no problems ever since. Definitely put a doubt in me about it though, was really expecting for it to happen again but luckily it was just the individual that I originally bought.
