    Do You Support Us Troops??

Well beings I have lived in 7 different countries during my life, I believe I know enough to know what freedom is and isn't.

The reason china is limited to 1 child per family is for good reason, they are overcrowded there are more people in china then there are in the rest of the world together (excluding china of course) and beings that a big chunk of there land cannot be accessed easily it is impossible to have more people coming in with out it being catastrophic.

We my not be encumbered as much as china in the freedom of speech area, but we are a far-cry from being able to print anything we like, go put a add talking about murdering someone in your local news paper, or for example take what Mel Gibson said back a while ago about the Jews, he was forced to apologize and was fined for that. or what Dan rather said about bush he had to apologize and got fired for it. if we truly had freedom of speech these things would not be against the law etc, so don't even attempt to give me that line of garbage.

I believe you should go and read up on a few things before you come in blindly to debate about something you evidently have no idea about.

They do not HAVE to wear them, I stayed in Iraq a short time and they were fairly modern they wore jeans etc. although some did wear vales etc. that covered there face they were not forced to that is just one of there natural fashions in that region.

I am not saying there better than us, I believe no one is better than anyone else in a natural term of thinking, but I am saying we are more on the same level of them it's just that most Americans are too ignorant to realize this.

Oh yes lets trade the maybe few dozen people that would die by him in a year and just do a mass genocide in several years so after the majority of the people are dead who all is left on both sides can sleep better.

He stated he had no nuclear weapons, we did several checks for nuclear weapons, and found nothing. The only reason we went over there is because bush wanted to finish what his daddy tried to do.

So you don't kill innocence you don't kill women and children, well if you say that your full of shit. what about the women and children forced to come out with a rpg, a kamikaze style bomb strapped to them or a AK-47 etc. They are innocent they just have no other choice ,it's either do this have a chance to survive or have a 100% chance of death. and after so much war and after you see what the enemy can\will do how do you know who is innocent or not you don't so you run on instinct and instinct isn't always 100% correct. You can't say something like you don't kill women and children or innocent civilians because you do. It may not be always on purpose but you do. and what about when you go in and level a whole city block using missiles grenades etc. you may be telling everyone to come out, and that it is safe, but what about the people who don't know English and only speak Arabic. etc.

That is just what I am getting at, he wasn't making people's lives a living hell he didn't do anything more than what bush is doing now, even though bush is incompetent does that give us the right to go to the white house and slay him? No, so what gives us the right to go over there and slay Saddam?

Also how would you know how Saddam ruled other than what the government says to the soldiers? did you ever go there for any length of time before the war? did you ever know anyone from there before the war? obviously not or you wouldn't have such misguided views on this subject.

You don't have a choice to where you are sent or what you have to do after you have signed up, but you do have the choice to leave the army navy etc. after your term is served and to not go in for another term afterward.

You probably picked the worst examples. You only have your freedoms up to the point that they encroach on the freedoms of another. In example 1, murder encroaches on a persons right to live, therefore it is illegal. In examples 2 and 3, people have the right to remain a good reputation (unless with cause) and that is why there are laws against libel and slander and such. While example 3 is controversial due to its political and media aspects, it still follows the law as it should (again, controversial, but this thread is not about arguing this point).

saying something and doing something are 2 completely different things though. For example, I threaten to kill you. Does this mean your in danger? no I have no clue where you are at what you look like etc. and the chance that I could even get near you is slim to none. and for the other 2 things, they too are simply words, nothing more, and if we actually have "freedom of speech" we should be aloud to say it publicly.

"Do you support the troops?" means just as much as "Do you support the people in Iowa?". It's a stupid question, the answer is "yes". It is simply a public relations slogan used to pass big military expenditure bills and divert people's attention away from the real question: "Do you support the policy?"

Furthermore, I am sick of people jabbering about how soldiers work to "protect our freedom". They do whatever they are ordered to do, that's their job, they get paid for it. For example, soldiers didn't invade Iraq to protect America's freedom, although that may have been the pretext.

Although a few dim-witted, dip-shitted, jagoffs do not represent the entire US Army...

This gives me enough of a reason to not like the sick fucking individuals who take part in this bullshit.

    (The movie above)

They clearly don't understand they are representing themselves, the rest of the US Army, and none other than THE ENTIRE FUCKING UNITES STATES OF AMERICA.

I just never liked any military branch because it seems when they come back from war they expect so damn much. I realize I can go much further with this but that is going too far into my personal opinion that really does not need to be stated.

I understand they have an important job, but so do MILLIONS of Americans back at home.

The military is just another job.

This is just my two cents.

I did not say I hated every single person in the US Military just because of the fuck-ups in that video.

In fact, I said the exact opposite.. making your first rebuttal irrelevant.

As for the second part, you're right.. maybe I don't know exactly what they ask for.. and nor do I care, because I am not in the military service and what they ask for will have no effect on my life what so ever.

    THAT, is ignorance..

Sephiroth878, Thank you for being a soldier of the US Army. Many assholes don't appreciate what you guys do, it wasn't soldier's decisions to go to Iraq, it was their decision to join the military because they want to protect their country. So for all those who have/will say stuff that's bad about the soldiers, one fucking to say FUCK OFF.

And can you tell your army friends, thank you too? Keep up with being an awesome person, and your an awesome person because you signed up. Hey, if I got questions about the Army can I ask you? Because well, I sorta ask people around me to join the military. And, I'd rather cite, and ask questions from servicemen because I think a recruiter's words and such is too biased. While someone that is one, someone that's a Marine, sailor, pilot (or just someone that's in the air force ) would not be more biased. Maybe a bit biased about services, but not the military.

So, to end it I say again....I thank you and your friends in the service. This is coming from someone that wants to be a Marine. And ummm.......I don't know if I could say it but, Hooah! :)

Attention to people over 18 that support the troops!

Why not support them by going to foundations such as http://www.soldiersangels.org/ and to go to http://www.thisisforthesoldiers.org/
This might just boost them a bit. I'm 15 and when I told a teacher that handles events at school she said no. But we did send some letters to soldiers.
