The Existence of God

Um everyone would believe in god if real hard evidence did apprear, such as god moving a mountain. So you would be a full athiest like the rest of us

 

You need to get your story straight before you go arguing something like that.

God is thought to have been around always. He didnt just come into the universe and decide to make an earth. Not that i believe any of that anyway xD

Religion is so pointless. Some people just can't live with the fact that mabey, one day, there won't always be someone there for you.

Contrary to popular belife, Atheist's are not devil worshipers. We just want to live out our lives. Thats it!

Religion has caused so many problems with this world. Just look at the people over in the middle east. What's one of the reasons that they want to kill us? Because THEIR god is better than ours, that THEIR god is the true god and that THEIR god "tells" them to kill the non-belivers.

Think about it. If someone were to come to you and say, "I am God!", wouldn't you want proof? Yes, you would. Of course you would. And you would not want goofy proof. You would not accept something that looks like a faith healer's show at a tent revival, and you would not accept something that looks like a magic trick. You want real, solid proof. You want any person who claims to be God to do something that is clearly impossible, like picking up a skyscraper, levitating it through the air and settling it into the middle of Central Park.

No normal person, and I mean no one, would accept anything less than rock solid proof from a person who claims to be God.

Why should it be any different with Jesus? Jesus was a man who claims to be God. If he is God, then he ought to be able to prove it in a real, inimitable way. If he cannot prove it then, quite clearly, he is not God.

 

I request empirical evidence/rational arguments.

No one will give u that as can neva give a prove of his non-exictence.
No one asked u to believe in god u r the only one who can decide and its ur decision. No one will take the punishment for u so its ur only decisiont. I believe in god and if I'm right I will go to the heaven and u will go to the hell. If u r right then I won't lose anything and u 2 .

 

Umm, you're the believer and you say one can never provide proof of his NON-existance? That is implying something to me, and we have already been over that.

Second, belief without proof is thorough idiocy! Say, a friend tells you a mountain had spontaneously moved in to the middle of the ocean overnight. You would most definitely not believe him until you saw solid, hard proof. God is the same thing, if someone is running around claiming there is an entity who can make anything happen whenever he wants, you would definitely want proof.

Looks like this one was sucked in when the critical mind was still developing.

Well, I was asking for evidence that he does exist, but you're right, you cannot disprove a universal negative through empirical observations.

I value the truth as important, so even if I'm right, I will be happy.

 

Well, Believe means that u believe in something without a proof. I said that be4. For me I see god everywhere and so I believe in him. For u U can't see that and I can't make u do. My situation reminded me of something in Quraan when God said '' If we opened the sky for them they would never believe and they would say it was a magic''. Previous prophets were provided with Miracles and ppl didn't believe in God. So how can I without Miracles make another one from another place do. Why should I care anyway. As I said I won't be punished for anyone and its up to everyone. If it's true I will go to happen and if it isn't I won't lose anything. I think that the only thing in the world I'm really sure about is God-existence and I have already gave all wat I think its proofs and refused it. So I can't do anything more. My answer was for Shredder saying that he can't ask everyone coming and say I believe in God to give him a proof. Believe means that u believe something and there is no proof. The proofs u want will make everyone believe in God and it will not be believing anymore.

 

Humans are inherently rational creatures. We tend to believe in what there is evidence for - indeed, our survival depends upon it.

Personally, I haven't seen any miracles, and I would hate to rely upon word of mouth, so I am inclined to be very skeptical.

 

This is why we call it Believing
