[Denied] Remove security moderator

Seems worthless remove please. See it on the viewer list and have never seen a green name.
Correction - 15 people have had it over the course of 13 years.

 

Typically someone doing security you won't really see much correct me if I'm wrong. That role might be more of a back end working type role. I haven't been here long so I'm not sure exactly what its for either.

 

It likely exists because it has unique permissions that don't match up with the others? I'm sure there's a valid reason for it to be a publicly visible role.

 

If someone comes along who can fit the role then it’s there, what’s the point in removing it to later reinstate the rank? Moe was a security mod not so long ago.

 

King was the latest one, then changed to a sectional, it has been a while since one b4 him, check the staff changes threads.

 

Well uhm, after some investigating, I have no idea if there has ever been a security mod as green on staff changes relates to support center, with that said, I would like to deem the rank 100% useless

 

There might be someone with that rank as a secondary role maybe? Who knows, what does it matter if there's 1 more or less ranks tho

If their primary rank is any of the other moderator+ ranks, and security moderator as a secondary mask, the other one will always be the color you see on their name.

 

I support, I don't think its a rank that's even used.

 

Eh rich could probably take off the name on the online section if it really bothers you so much, but there's no reason to get rid of the role with perms etc already done, there just isn't a current need for someone in the slot.

 

Counter suggestion: remove DNT and ban all people who should be banned again

This. While it is not currently being used, there is no reason to remove if we have someone in the future that fits the role. With the forum redesign there is a possibility it will be removed. As of now this has been denied.
