Just Made A Paypal..

Hey i just made a paypal account and i was wondering if anyone could just tell me the basics? Also i heard a common scam is people pay you then they cancel the payment or something like that? I just want to know some tips so i don't become a victim of a scammer. Thanks.

Huh? I've never used paypal before so please speak in retard terms . Well just explain it properly since i don't even know what you mean by 'get them to claim' sorry =\.

 

Well, I don't know what kinds of scams people use, but if you're worried about losing out to a scammer, then just don't ever send or transfer merchandise until the payment has cleared and/or you move it from PayPal into your bank account.

Also, don't do a lot of high-end transactions (selling a lot of things that cost lots of money) or PayPal will freeze your account until you prove whatever they want you to prove. I have a horror story about that, but it's too long to put here so I'll spare you.

Basically, keep a bare minimum amount in your account, only put more money in when you absolutely need to (like right before you buy something - but be sure to account for the 3-5 day waiting period it takes to take the money from your bank account), and never send merchandise or trade goods until the payment has cleared and you have put the money into your bank account.

Also, changing your password regularly might be a good idea.

Even if they manage to claim and cancel, there are still ways of taking back the money, which is why most trusted people here avoid using PayPal. If you intend on trading here, then only use it with the more trusted sellers to reduce risk.
