Most Influential Rap Artist In The Last 20 Years?

Well, here's a poll of some of the artist that I think have been the most influential towards the rap genre. Keep in mind, this is not who is the best at this point in time. But rather, who has shown the most talent, over their whole career.

    My answer:

Eminem. I know, I know. It's a well known fact that Tupac was the most influential rapper, but I have a different reasoning for my choice. Yes, Tupac was probably the most influential, but he was more influential in a political stance then towards the rap genre. In my opinion, Eminem has done more for Music then Tupac did. Another person I would rank higher then Tupac would be Jay-Z. Both Eminem and Jay-Z have proven themselves and have pushed the rap game where it is today (Haters, don't post about this). Rap was probably at it's prime in about 2000 - 2003.

So, overall, yes Tupac would get my vote. But we're talking about just for music here, so Eminem get's it for me.

Please note, if you're going to hate on anyone's posts don't even try it.

This whole thread is opinion based, so there should be absolutely 0 flaming.

    LIL WAYNE?! :S

I voted Tupac because i think he changed rap itself he got other rap artists to really think about what they said and what they did and i think he was the most influential.

Why isn't Big Pun on there? He was a great lyricist (better than Tupac in my opinion) and he has been one of the greatest rappers who ever lived.

My vote would go to him ^^

...wow... your a straight hypocrite man how can you say all rap sucks and then be like oh yea this stuff is alright haha looks like someone is trying to fit in.

anyways in my opinion the choices for the most influential rap artists is kinda lame i mean what did eminem do that the beasty boys and vannila ice didnt already do? Also how is ice cube not on the list he started N.W.A which is probly the most influential rap group of all time. Then you have 50 cent and jay-z how in any way are they influential there just mainstream rap trying to make money, but anyways i would have to say Ice cube, Nas, or Tupac and Biggie Smalls.

I went with Jay-Z. He's probably the only one up there that has been putting out good songs and records for the full 20 years.

Dr. Dre, one of the people that made rap big. He also signed Eminem and 50 Cent.

    1.Eminem
