Is an eye for an eye wrong?

I believe that it is not wrong. Except under circumstances.

Two Examples:

o - If it was an accident
o - If the victim forgives.

 

In a way, it's wrong. But in another way, it's fair. The person that received the pain would just be inflicting the pain on the person who deserves it, then again, as Finn said, Revenge isn't the answer.

 

I think taking revenge is the right thing, it would bother you to just take shit and not give it back? eh?

 

I agree, i was gonna say the same thing lol. If its an accident then i don't really think its fair to do that same thing to the other person on purpose. And yeah well if the victim forgives the offender then theres not really a need for anything.

 

I think if someone Murders someone then the murderer deserves to die. But if someone were to shoot me or something I would probably shoot them.

Well if that sort of rule was in effect, I bet people would think twice before doing something wrong to someone.

example: A rapist gets a hold of a woman and rapes her, he gets caught and the eye for an eye rule takes effect. . .hes not going to be happy

It all depends on the magnitude of the unbalancement.

If someone pushed me I'd most likely walk away. Stabbing on the other hand....well that's a different story.

anyways, an eye for an eye is an ignorant saying, especially when pertaining to death.

So man1 kills man2 so that gives man3 the right to kill man1??? that makes him a murderer just like man1, so man3 must be killed by man4 and man 4 killed by man5 and so on...you can't justify murder.


That doesn't mean that if someone pushed me I wouldn't beat the hell out of them. I have anger issues lol.

It depends what you're revenge is, I think it's wrong but anger is very strong and takes over people easily and in certain situations you just have to get revenge.

Revenge is usually the wrong path to take, but it depends on how you handle something. If someone is racist to you, being racist back isn't going to solve anything. But if someone fights you and the only way you can get away is to fight back, you don't really have any other choice.

 

I think if someone does something unspeakable, they should be dealt with, possibly more extreme.
