    Pythagorus` Theorem

    Hey guys stupid homework yet again
    anybody good with Pythagorus` Theorem?
    im looking to solve a problem like this

    -Normal Triagle-
    -Left side = 16m-
    - Right Side = X -
    - Bottom = 11M -

    Question is
    Calculate the value of X into two decimal places

    I SUCK AT THIS :p

    Pythagorus` Theorem

    which side is the hypotenuse or whatever its called? the 'longest' side.

    Its just a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (c being the hypotenuse).

    yeah usually the a squared + b squared = c squared but i suck at this anyways
    the right angle at bottom left of triangle ,, uh hyp is X , longest side is 16m shortest is 11m

    Pythagorus` Theorem

    x= 19.42 if x is the hypotenuse... if not
    x= 11.62 if x is the leg

    Yeah its 19.42, Cfrey is right. Also a right angled triangle isn't really a 'normal' triangle lol. I don't think i'd classify any triangle as a normal one :p.

    Pythagorus` Theorem

    a²+b²=c²

    16²+11²=c²

    256+121=c²

    256+121=374

    √374 = 19.42

    x=19.42

    Basically you take the 2 numbers you have and square them if its a leg and a base. Then you add those #'s to find c². After you find that number you take the square root of the added number and you get the length for c. c is x in this equation so c=19.42 but you would put x=19.42.

    Pythagorus` Theorem

    its 377, not 374 :). 374 would give you a square root of 19.34
