Need help with IE and or firefox

Alrighty lets get to the point, My computer has a problem, what that problem is I don't know neither does anyone else that I can find. I am almost 100% sure the problem that is causing it, it is advertisements.





places such as imageshack, myspace, runescape and many other places (sythe is one of the few it doesn't happen for some reason) I will disconnect when one of these tries to load up, I thought it was my security was set to high, but I have changed it all around and still nothing so alas my last way of stoping it is a ad blocker, I heard firefox can do it but the only one I found stoped the first pic I posted from poping up not the second. so what I am asking is this.

1. can IE or firefox block these?
2. if so how (please make your walkthrough computer illiterate friendly)
3. do you know how to fix this without doing the block thing?
4. if so give me a walkthrough how (and still give the one for ie and firefox if possible )

I think if Sythe, or the other admins catch people deliberately blocking the advertisements, we could get infracted. Though I'm not fully sure.

If you don't get into serious trouble, you can download an add-on for Firefox.

It's called Adblock Plus, and it blocks ads on websites. I would suggest using it for other sites such as ones that keep popping up on you each time you move/click on their page...

 

Thats what I do, I will only be using fire fox for those sites IE will still be used for sythe etc. as I absolutely hate fire fox lol but thank you for your time.

1. Yes, both can but Internet Explorer sucks anyway.

2. For firefox just look in their add-ons database. https://addons.mozilla.org. Here's an example of one https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

3. I have no idea what your browsers are doing but there are probably corrupt files or something's been tampered with.

Give Opera a try if nothing else. I personally find it to be more useful and speedy than the other two for a lot of things. http://www.opera.com/
