Guide to writing a good resume.

This Will Help You With Resume Trouble's In The Future

    Basic Parts of a Resume

    1. Name And Address
This is were you put your name, address, phone number, Fax (if any) and Email address at the top of page, and place your first and last name in a header at the bottom of the page. quite effortless

    2. Objective statement

The objective statement is only a one sentace summary of what you want as a future job. The objective statement gives the employer a chance to see:

-What type of position you want
-What facility you want to work at
-What field of work you are interested in

If you choose not to use a objective statement, then it is highly advised that you do use a Summary statement.

    3. Summary Statement

Much like the objective statement, the summary statement can also be done in one sentence. It's purpose is to highlight your main qualifications, which should contain some, or most of the following:

    -Your Best Skill
    -Credentials
-Years Of Experience With That Skill

The summary and objective statement's can both be combined into one paragraph, which would show the employer both what you want and have regarding skills.

    4. Schooling/Education
The education section is something that people will really notice, this is why it should be filled with all awards that were granted to you whilst in school, it is best to name the accomplishments you have achieved.

You should put the following in the Education section:

    Name of school:
    Location:
    Year of graduation:
    Certificates:

    5. Work Experience
This area of the resume is were you should put down 4-8 job's that highlight the skill's that are most helpful to the employer. Describing these words should involve using action verbs in a active past and or present tense, The following should be put in the Education section of the resume:

    -Job title
    -Name of workplace
    -Location of workplace
    -Length of employment

    6. References

The reference section should be written out on a separate page to the main resume, It should show the recipients:

    -Full name
    -Job title
    -Place of employment
    -Full address
    -Phone number
    -Email address (If any)

If you had followed the step by step guide, then congratulation's you have produced a well prepared resume!

Well structure, I presume this will help out allot of members here at sythe, because the majority are at the age which are applying for Jobs currently.

Great layout and great content, Too the point.

Guide to writing a good resume.

Quite a few grammatical mistakes, and quite the contrary to what Macroman said, I doubt this will be used whatsoever.

When people are applying for a job, they..

A.) Tend not to use pre-customized guides off a Runescape cheating forum.
B.) Are usually at an age where they have went through school, and probably have learned how to write a resume properly.
C.) Tend not to be on Sythe.org. It has a vast majority of younger members.

Also, the guide itself seems a bit short and lacking detail.
I could've made this in a few minutes.
I doubt much effort went into it, to be quite honest.

However, it is a nice idea nonetheless, and as Macroman said, has a nice structure and such. :)

Guide to writing a good resume.

You don't need a resume to apply for jobs at ages 12-18, for you really don't have much experience/educational background.

Guide to writing a good resume.

The other minority are 12 year olds and don't even know how to pronounce resume...

Also Well structured guide, but I learned all of it and more in my Careers class. And like Finn said earlier, It is a bit short and lacks reason for a majority of Sythe to use this.

Guide to writing a good resume.

This statement sums it up. Don't get me wrong Venom1, this is a superb guide, yet it just won't be useful for much of the members. People ages 12-18 have little or nothing to put forth to a committee of people who decide whether or not you will receive a job. What do you put ,other than information, on a resume when you have no prior experience. Most jobs for younger age groups don't ask for resumes nor do they care about prior credentials.
Nonetheless, you did a good job on listing everything that should be included in a basic resume. 9/10

It's short and simple, but to the point.

It has a nice structure to it, easy to read and flows well.

I can't point my finger on it, but, you do remind me of Six for some odd reason. Perhaps it's just a coincidence.
Anyways, I agree it is the perfect structure for a simple resume.

Guide to writing a good resume.

As many of the members on this site are immature and probably are 11-13 and have not had any thoughts of getting a job, and the only jobs that the people on this site are going for because of the ages or actually can are jobs at market basket, or Mcdonalds, which there isn't much skill requirement there, but the guide itself is excellant :D
