Guide to Cpanel

Here is my guide to Cpanel.

First Type in

Login... With your FTP Details.

Let me tell you what each does.

1. 
   Preferences: Dont change your skin. This is only used to change your FTP password.

  Mail: Use for only setting up Emails if you want to. (Sell etc..)
  
  • 
    Files: Only use to manage your FTP accounts & Backup your files. Dont use File Manager. Thats what FTP client is for.

   Logs: This is going to be big. Managing your traffic is utmost important! The main uses is Bandwith and Awstats.
   
   I'll show you how Awstats works.
   
   
   
   The monthly history, Will moniter your new Visitors, Returning and Hits. Its all very convenient. You can track new IP's etc..
   
   Next Section.
   
   Security.. IP Ban ftw.
   
   Domains. Redirect will if your setting forums let you redirect from. Index > forums. Use IT!
   
   Databases!:
   
   This is a biggie. When you are creating forums you will need to create a database. To create a DB go to:
   
   MySQL Databases.
   
   
   
   Simple! Now if you have a Database and you want to add it go to:
   
   PHPmyAdmin
   
   
   
   Click Import and Whalla!
   
   Thats all you need to know for Cpanel!
