Alright here we go so I matched with this girl, for the purpose of this story we'll call her "L" on tinder when I was home for a week between the end of the normal school year and between the month of summer term I was taking. L was right up my isle, we had similar interests, similar music tastes, had a couple mutual friends etc (and she was incredibly attractive to me). I sent her a message and L responded pretty quickly there was a little back and forth and then I got her snapchat. I didn't really say anything at first except said she looked cute in one of her snap stories. One night once I was at school, I had a shitty hookup with some random girl and it reminded me that's not really what I want. So I messaged L the next day "Hey do you want to go out?" Seemed a little bold but I was confident. We started talking after that, and it was really really good. Like the best conversations I had with anyone in a long time. We'd stay up till like 4 AM talking and I would hate having to go to sleep and I would actually be excited to wake up in the morning to talk to her. (depression is a killer so this was a welcomed change.) We'd talk for hours about literally anything and it made me feel amazing. She was into me and she actually said it which only made me feel even better and more into her. I had like 3 days until I got back from summer and we were both excited. We'd talked about what we wanted to go do (Get high, eat pizza and watch a movie) (Doesn't seem like much but we're both potheads, she deals a little bit, I used to work at an American Italian restaurant making pizzas and she works at a similar one as a waitress.). I texted her the day before I got home and said hey what are you doing tomorrow? ... no response. This hadn't really happened before, she'd text first in the morning or I would it wasn't really important who would. So I didn't say anything until the next night and said or nah?. she responded like two hours later that she was working and I responded shortly after the question still stands. She didn't respond. I was really into this girl and this wasn't normal so I texted her a couple days later "hey is everything ok?" "ya i'm just going thru some shit" I responded with something to the effect of if you ever need to talk w/e. Couple days later I texted her hey what are you doing tonight? seeing if she just wanted to hang or anything. "workin cus my life sucks lol" "do you want to hang after?" no response. waited like a week and a half and sent her "i've really enjoyed getting to know you and I feel like somethings been off since I got back. maybe you didn't mean to but it feels like you don't want to talk anymore. If you don't see this working out could you just say that?" Like I thought this girl was really different and I was really into her and I thought she was into me too. Idk how I could've misinterpreted "Hey I can't wait to see you i really like you."

She said "im sorry i've been hard to reach i kinda started dating one of my friends so ive been awol"

She's updated her tinder profile almost every day since she said that.

I was really into her in a way I haven't been into anyone in a while, I thought it could be more than just one night. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten attached before we met. Maybe I should've played harder to get. Maybe Maybe Maybe.

I've returned to levels of depression I haven't been in for months. it sucks lol.

@mumble that really sucks dude, hope you're getting better. Been in a similar situation before and it really hurts.

 

Situations like this hurt, but it doesn't have to hold you back. It will pass over, you're in luck as there are a bunch more girls out there who you can have a similar click with. Maybe you loved the idea of her more than the person itself, cause she seems like a dick in the way she handled things.

Keep your head high and continue to stay open for new experiences.

 

The devils lettuce works in mysterious ways. That being said, there are plenty of other pothead, pizza digging, movie binging lovely ladies out there, trust me on that one.
