Infractions for repeated poor reports in RAS need to be dealt

Troll reports should be an immediate infraction, reports made for comments in spam forum or discord should be an infraction, commenting on reports that arent related to you should be an immediate infraction (your opinion on the case doesn't matter). If these rules are already in place they need to be enforced, Sythe has become a playground for trolls and from an outsiders perspective (a potential new business) it doesn't look moderated or safe.

Wasting staff time is the appropriate infraction to give it was once upon a time heavily enforced....

 

I completely agree why not just punish those who waste time, it isn't needed, I remember people getting infected when they post useless information

Wow, that makes a lot of sense, it has been one for a while now regardless. On the other hand, What is a troll report? How do mods constitute a troll report from a real one? And SOMETIMES commenting on a thread that doesn't involve you is resourceful. When it comes to someone being a twat, yes they deserve an infraction. I believe this should be feedback not a suggestion, as it is clearly unclear what is troll or not presently. Neutral.

@Shigure We already have a rule for this, and is actively being moderated.

I apologize that you do feel that way, and for any inconvenience. I will speak to the team, and we will do our best to moderate this the best way we can do so.

 

When we switched to Xenforo, I told Sythe that we needed it so that only the OP and staff could reply to threads because otherwise the section would be spammed pretty heavily.

He said the other option was that anyone could create threads, but only staff could reply. This means that the OP would need to create a new thread and request it to be merged. This may be a hassle, but if you have a bot or require staff's opening line of their response to have a copy pasta explaining this and to direct the OP to discord / create a new thread with a reply, it should work fine. I believe that is an option that should be explored at this point.

 

How come @Divine is allowed to ask for specific staff & ex-staff to deal with his reports? After the report was already dealt with? How do you not see the irony here?

I see 20 reports a month asking for @Sythe to input on them, but just because Divine posts it after a decision is already made not only does it not immediately get closed and him infracted (as it was already decided and he is wasting staffs time) - but staff waits for the staff member he requested to respond.

It is a complete joke. If @Divine has a problem with it, he can bring it up to the staff that made the decision. Its turned into a fucking shitshow. @Pendulum responded on the report. If we're just going to let @Divine remake the report and ask for Sythe, we may as well demote all mods that arent admin.

 

Sythe is the final arbitration for issues. It's nothing about staff showing bias towards me, I politely asked him to review the case and overturn the decision because he is the final arbitrator, only he has the power to overturn the decision so I requested his arbitration, if he's feeling nice hopefully he'll give it.

Sythe respects Mala's opinion and often calls on it on difficult RAS reports, which is why I requested them both.

Speaking to the staff that made the decision is a waste of time, I've never bothered because its frankly useless, they don't share their private arguments and just waste my time, its actually easier to just ask Sythe to overturn it than it is to go to staff because their so damn secretive I don't even bother.

 

@Champ I'd open a staff discussion to at least discuss the possibility of switching the permissions in the report a scammer section.

• People can't post without it being approved by a moderator
  • Unless they are directly involved in the report - mods can set this

Why?

Once in a while I do post things I feel are helpful for mods to know. I don't mind if they are public (although I do like the karma), but I think that it is valuable to leave a way for people to add more to the report whether they are not included in it (scammer, scamee, or mod).

Why not just talk to the mod handling the report?

Mods dont always share things, specially if they dont feel its necessary. Sometimes other mods take over or chime in on a report and I have had the instance where I have talked to the mod handling the report about some external info, but then another mod took over the report and it was not shared. By allowing users to post privately (aka it wont show if mods do not approve it) you can still communicate important info but not have it shown.

 

Why not private message the staff involved instead of posting , I see your point but the issue is that 9/10 its just kids shit talking or don't know what they are speaking. It shouldn't haven't someone bias/opinion, they aren't staff. If you would like to put feedback on the situation contact staff. I could post on someone report right now say a bunch of shit but no consequences of wasting staffs time.

 

Yeah. But, I don't fully agree with this. I don't think people who have VALID input should be infracted. Mods are real people, they forget things. If a case in the past was handled one way, it should be treated the same way in the future - if someone can provide valid input towards a case they shouldn't be infracted. Of course I'll get downvoted, though, but that's my input.
