A Plan for a Perfect Server - Is it possible?

After being disgusted by Jagex and their failures, failures, and more failures, I would really like to take a stab at a server. I have played on multiple servers, coded servers, and hosted servers before.

My name is Zeecron, and I want to build the perfect server. 100% Uptime, No Lag, Up to date features, reasonable leveling rates, and activity. The only problem is, I am not your best coder, I know the basics and a bit beyond that, I definitely have the determination, I own a T1 connection, I could run it off my own computer, but I have some questions, possibly paid hosting off a T3 or something beyond that.

I would also like to make a client to be used with the server aswell, with an up to date layout similar to the current one Jagex has, this would allow for alot of extra things.

My Questions

• Is it possible to get a paid hosting company to host a Private Server? If so, explain please.
• Is it truely possible to do everything I stated, I am pretty sure an expert coder would say so.

I live in United States, IL. Running in Centril Timezone, so I am generally online between 3pm and 11pm (CST) during weekdays, on weekends if I dont plans for the night or the following morning I am on till 5AM.

What I would like to incorporate into a server

Wildy PKing

Working Food

Working Potions

Working Prayer (Possible? I've never seen a server with working prayer. And yes, I know the icons above your head for major prayers are possible, but I've never seen them make a difference.)

Reasonable Exp rate, Possible 300 per Damage Point. Not to fast or too slow. No one wants to train for 10 years or go from 1-99 in a split second and become immediately bored. Makes Skill Capes worth it.

Skill Capes with emotes

Correct Attack Speed for Weapons. Balance is the key.

Anti-Attack Spam/Click Spam - Hitting someone 10 times with a whip because you clicked on them really fast is pointless, it's no longer PKing and more like see who's fat sausage fingers can click the mouse faster.(Lol <3)

Reasonable Monster Loot

Make Rares, Rares. I like to know my items have value and earning them is fun at a certain rate.

Godswords - I have no experience using them in Runescape, I WAS always Wildy PKing, I didnt do anything but that, I purchased gold from people off of Sythe for my RS2 gold.

Working Magic and Ancient Magicks - I have experience with every ancient spell from Runescape, I know how they work and how much damage they should do. I would like to keep the damage the same, and the effect the same.

Commands - I personally think relying on commands for everything is bad. I would like to have interaction between NPCs, talk to NPCs to be taken to wherever, talk to NPCs to purchase PKing equipment, armor, and such. Ofcourse the basic commands are always great like ::home and ::help

it's very possible. but it would be easier if you teamed up with someone. and your server will have many people playing in it if there were things like PKing again. and Event Drops just liek how Runescape started. you're going to need forums and things like that as well. i'm not a coder myself. but if you find someone that can do those things for you. you've got potential.
All i can supply to you is if you make a forum. i can keep it alive, and well, pretty much like a forum mod. Anyways, Good Luck.

 

Yes, I can definitely run a website, I own many .com and .net domains. www.Zeecron.com is current domain i have just parked for future use, could possibly use that for it, integrate a php3 or php2 forum along with a news page/main page, a Guide page, client DL if I design one, and basically all the goodies =]

LMFAO. I'm pretty sure you just described the average good server. I know of plenty of servers that have all these things, oh, I just read the date, this is 3 years later... weird how 3 years ago you were dreaming this and now 90% of servers are like this. I guess your the definition of a visionary.
