Scammed using middleman

100% similar case: Duck is a scammer!

If he is put to repay, yes. I'll gather funds.
If he is not put to repay, you may aswell go ahead and ban me. I hate the way I'm being treated here.


@Pageth I feel like you take the same amount of blame as myself. I added you twice, afterwards you claim that you had two different users and you didn't think to stop the trade? I was there solely to help you guys out, and he played us both, now you want me to take money out of an empty pocket? You grind PK'ing, yes, but I live with two people from one income and have a house to pay. This money now has to come from somewhere.

It's easy when you scam someone, then it's just repay what you took. Let's not forget that's not the case here. I'm not walking on roses financially.

Smh if this is considered justice.

 

All I have to add is that I tried my absolute best when guiding this trade. Do I feel sorry for the outcome? Yes, you have no idea.

When you tell me to make sure that the person I'm talking to on the other side was the right one, I feel like I was able to prove that I did just that, without getting any warnings from the other party until after the trade. What do you do when there's no indications to put your guards up? At the very least, I feel like regardless of the outcome, I did way more than the absolute minimum that we've seen in previous examples that got off the hook with not even a warning.


In retrospect I am able to say that, yes, I could have done this, or could have done that. It's easy for anyone who wasn't put in this situation to judge about the outcome.

I try to show integrity when doing business, no exceptions, something that any person I've dealt with would be able to confirm. It pains me to see that this is what you get as a result. I'm more than disappointed with the ruling. I feel wronged, and I feel like I'm getting an unfair treatment compared to other people who were in my spot.

I hope staff is able to recognise this and can at least sympathise with why I'm feeling more than disappointed with this judgement. I wish I could say that I'll forget any of this happened, but I won't.

I'm ready to pay out @Pageth whenever.

 

I mean, I know it's not my place to say, but wouldn't it be more fair if they at the very least split the scam? (Meowth just pays pageth 100m and pageth accepts the 100m loss). They both got duped, in no way is it fair to shoot meowth down for trying to do a service for the community. They could've duped any middleman really, meowth just happened to fall victim. Meowth went above the bare minimum, you can't expect him to take full responsibility. Like, who would've known that using different fonts in discord is a thing. When people get imposter scammed, even mods themselves only claim discord is case sensitive. Haven't seen ANYONE state that it's font sensitive.

 

He never paid the wrong funds to the wrong person. Totally different scenario, not sure why you're comparing them.

If you and Pageth can work something out VIA PM feel free to do so, other than that, you are responsible for the funds.

Both me and Pageth got imposter scammed until all confirmations were done and then fake Pageth sent me all confirmations that I was good to pay out, never paid out to any wrong people. If you want to state the facts, state them right.

 

The imposter tricked you to pay the 07 GP to someone else. Regardless, you couldn't pay the BTC to Pageth because obviously you paid the 07 to the wrong person, and didn't have the BTC funds. That's the facts.

Conclusion: You were tricked into paying the 07 GP to the scammer, while he confirmed on a fake Pageth that the BTC was paid, therefore resulting in a loss for the real person.

Regardless I am not going to argue, you will need to refund, or you will be banned.
