[DENIED] RSN Sales

Could we possibly put forward a rule that you are not allowed to sell an rsn on behalf of someone else? already very sketchy market as it is. if you want to sell you should have that name/account on hand ready for sale

 

Can you give me an example of this? I would agree that selling names for other people is rather offsetting, and sounds sketchy, still would like an example if you could please @Gladion

 

For example, this report is potential to what could happen Reporting Pastaman~Amputator/Bedtimed Potential Scamming.

This should really go with any sales, no "selling for a mate" if you post a product or a service from your sythe account i believe it should be coming from you only. Ive had countless people i want to name buy from and they give me this big list of bullshit and 3/4 of the names are not theres

 

If this is as frequent as you claim then I would support as that is like gold sellers having their workers to also have threads to get them sales.

Can you show examples of this happening to you from past chatlogs? WOuld be best to censor the traders name and definitely censor the names they have for sale. Only show a mod in private the same names being sold by two different people

 

Name sellers who are friends often band together to sell help sell each others names. This has been going on for years. As soon as you express interest, they state it’s a friends name and usually create a group chat with them and/or direct you to them.

I can definitely see an argument for disallowing this, but truth be told, the consumer is likely to buy the name anyways regardless of who they talk to, because these name sellers don’t band together with randoms. They have to do come together with people they trust. So it very likely doesn’t have any effect on the market

@Gladion - Selling a name for someone else hinges on them allowing you to advertise their name. As with most established name sellers, we require a proof of budget so that we can ensure the user is legitimate and has the funds. The report you were referencing, the user does not do this and is ultimately just leaking names to other people.

If this rule is applied it would only be fair if the same applies to account sales. No more selling accounts that you aren’t the OO of. Now how do you think that will fly?

 

I don't think not being the OO and not owning the name is the same thing. The report post above the seller didn't even have the name at all. He was going to get the gold from a buyer AND THEN use the gold to purchase the name. Buying an account and then reselling it is different in my opinion since you actually own the account at the time you're selling it. I think as long as your CURRENTLY own the name then you should be able to sell it.

OP example aside, even admins such as @video have sold accounts for friends. I think the concept of selling account for friends correlates with a concern on selling names for friends or this suggestion should not be considered on that basis.

There are already rules in place for sniping and scamming. We don’t need to address that so the scam report mentioned is honestly irrelevant in this thread. We are focusing on selling names for friends here.

No support. They hold the seller(s) liable for the names if there is any scamming/sniping going on.

 

This suggestion has been denied, we cannot put limitations such as these in a free market.
