[APPROVED/REVIEW] aRPG section

Currently action RPG game “Diablo 3” has its own sub section in the “other games” section.

I have played D3 a lot, and I am now playing PoE and I noticed that PoE sales are posted In the general section for “other games”.

This doesn’t really add up because D3 doesn’t even have as many active players as PoE since Path of Exile is free to play on steam.

Also, PoE has a very complicated currency system, having tons of different “currencies” or mediums of exchange (orbs, scrolls, etc) and player to player trading is huge.. unlike D3

UPDATE: Below are some stats and proof of active market for PoE that is lost because of the lack of there not being a specific PoE section, not because there is not market.​

but thats not all, Much like runescape, PoE Orb and currency sellers use bot advertising since there is global chat. The game even has a global trade chat, making trading a huge part of the game, since NPCs aren't a good way to get the best armor in the game, and since it is a looter game, you can see there is potential here.


I suggest that we make a aRPG section , with sub sections for ....

1. Diablo 2-3 (D2 still very active since you can download D2 for free)
2. PoE
3. Other aRPG (wolcen, war hammer 40k, etc)

This will help drive more traffic for the huge PoE market, and other aRPGs, and will help make way for more aRPGs to come, like D4 whenever it is released.

not always pageth, for instance path of exile is all about maps, dungeons to upgrade a build with better items

Update: I posted some quick stats about PoE and why we should help make aRPG game sales more apparent on sythe's forums

Because of the success of PoE, and the anticipation of Wolcen, D4, and continuous expansion of the PoE with its seasonal "DLCs" and steady playercount, we may be positioned to bring more users to the forums

 

Support, this should also be added to shins forum redesign, so champ may deny it but may tag it on that thread.

- This will benefit SEO, even marginally by increasing indexed categories.
- The other games section is a bit clustered.
- Many rs gold sites are expanding to other games, and such a change may promote this over time.
- I am unsure if other game gold/service sites are expanding or not but I assume they plan to.
- Sythe has had a good run for 13 years or more mainly for Runescape, making changes like this now will benefit the site as the popularity of runescape continues to gradually decline

Glad someone who has played PoE for a while supports! Am I correct that there is a fairly large currency and trading market?

I downloaded PoE about 4 years ago and never really got into it because I was new to aRPG, but then I got D3. If anyone is reading this and you want to get into aRPG, I suggest getting Diablo 3, getting a character or 2 to max level, and then trying out PoE, because it can be over whelming.

I would love to play with you since I am fairly new ( less than a week ) to PoE. I am a Shadow who uses a bow and I i'm almost 100% positive I already ruined my skill tree. Still trying to learn ;P

 

I support this, PoE and others like it are huge. If this gets approved, someone message me and I can make some section icons for it if there aren't already some.

 

Haven't played the game myself, but overall this seems more beneficial than harmful (don't see a con to this), therefore I don't mind supporting this. More market sections like this = more traction to the site in the long run imo.
