Make Your PC 20x Faster!!

ok follow this and it makes your pc really fast.

1) click start

2) right click "My Computer", and click "Properties"

3) Click on the "Advanced" tab
4) Press the first button you see which will be "Settings"

5) Click on the "Advanced" tab
6) Click "Change"

7) Make the Initial Size-1000
and Max Size-2000
8) Click set than ok

9) Restart your PC
10) Voila, Fast PC!

 

Umm, not even sure this is correct. Also, even if it is, it is not very detailed. No proof, as is aid probably increases speed somewhat, but not that drastically. And you should put pics up to guide through maybe, or make more detailed as to why.

1. Your guide makes no sense.
2. Your numbers are inaccurate.
3. If done properly it will only make your computer slightly faster, 5% at the most.

This works, but it depends on other stuff.

The page file (Virtual memory) is what your computer stores stuff in for temporary use..Increasing it will help make your computer faster at certain occasions under certain circumstances ..

It wont always be faster, and it will never be 20x faster..but nevertheless, it helps to increase it.


Note: It shouldn't be 2000 unless your RAM is 1GB+

For 512 or less ram, try increasing it only by a little bit..or don't at all.

 

These numbers:
7) Make the Initial Size-1000
and Max Size-2000

I've seen many people say different numbers but I'm going to try and find the right ones.

You change it to your ram + 700, not 1000 and 2000.

Ive heard of this guide, and it will overload your computer if done incorrectly. This guide sucks.

Yep, but to be 100% sure, go google the method. Its very common.

 

Do any of you even know what page files are? It's the way the PC uses your hard disc as "RAM". Christ. It's like a swap partition on UNIX (Except it's done right there).
