The fact that your parents forced you to go through confirmation makes them bad Catholics. Confirmation is YOUR chance to say you want to be a catholic, unlike baptism, where you usually have no choice.

Religion itself is horrible, but catholics are the worst. Something about them pisses me off, mainly that they hate gays and shit.

You are fucked for life, if you don't tell your parents early in life that you are an atheist, because when you grow up they might not talk to you for the longest amount of time, if they are devoted catholics. Personally, i got out when i was 10 when i told my mom that i did not want to go to church, she was mad till i was a teen, but now shes over it.

Oh and we don't hate gays. We hate gay marriage. There's no such thing. There's life partners...we have no problem against that, but there is no such thing as marriage between two people of the same sex.

If you didn't believe it you shouldn't have received it. Confirmation is about you saying that your are a member of the church. Your parents agreed to raise you as a catholic when you where baptized. Now that you are older being confirmed you agree to be a active member of the church your parents or anyone shouldn't have a say in it.
