I wanna be a melee'r What should i get up?

 

Ok, I have a suggestion. This requires hard work, a lot of hard work infact. But it will be worth it in the end.



Ok, firstly, do all quests, a real barrows pker would stay 70 defence and have a quest cape. now that you have a quest cape, it would be great for you to have 70 prayer for piety. Even thoguh you want to be a meleer, I still recommend getting mage up. It helps a lot. Get perhaps 94 for ice barrage. Range is also helpful, but mage and melee will do Anyways, train to 80-85 att and 90+ str. This will mainly get you all the kills in bh. So your stats should look like:

80-85 Attack
90-99 Strength
70 Defence (hopefully you will stay 70 even with all the quests done)
70 Pray (For piety, which should be unlocked if you have quests cape)
82-94 Magic (82 for Ice Blitz to freeze your opponent, or 94 for either ice barrage, which is better than ice blitz, freezes your opponent for 15 secs. Or, 94 for VEngance, which nearly always has to be timed very well. If your experienced enough, use vengance. If your not, then use wither ice blitz or barrage.)
70-90 Range (Like I said before, it really depends on how you feel about the matter. You could use all three combat styles, but that would make it more complicated. I think you s hould stick to 2 for now. Either use range and melee, or mage and melee. Up to you )
90+ Hitpoints (Depends on what you have got up etc. In my opinion, more hitpoints = more chance of surviving.)

Oh yeah, just remembered, the inventory and armour etc. This depends on what you can afford.

I would wear full mage armour if your using mage, like mystic.
Amulet - Glory (I wouldn't really risk a fury, unless your really rich.)
Weapon - Whip (For the fastness, and good weapon) D Scimmy (str bonus)
Shield - Rune Defender / Unholy Book

Or, if you just want to melee:

Helm - Zerker Helm (str bonus) / Neizot Helm (pray bonus)
Amulet - Glory (I wouldn't really risk a fury, unless your really rich.)
WEapon - Whip (Whip (For the speed, and a good weapon) D Scimmy (str bonus)
Torso - Fighter Torso (same as rune plate with a str bonus)
Shield - Rune Defender / Unholy Book
Legs - Veracs Skirt (mage defence bonus)
Gloves - The best barrows gloves you have / Combat Bracelet
Boots - Dragon Boots / Rune Boots / Climbing Boots
Ring - Zerker Ring (if you can afford) / Ring of recoil

Wow thanks =D I already have ancients so chalk that one down. I have an idea for training mage too so that shouldnt take too long. I dont get why I would do ALL quests, im gonna do things like legends and RFD and kings ransom (for piety). Does a quest cape give you good bonuses? But thanks, you seemed to have spent a lot of time on that post and i appreciate it because that is exactly what i needed =D

Get higher strenght and attack, 52 prayer.
