vista prob

has anyone had problems with vista on old computers? it wont find my sound card. im gessing because my sound card is like 5 years old. It doesnt matter anyway since im only testing my downloaded vista before my new comp comes. I just hope its because my comp is old and not my vista, tho it allows me to do vista updates so im sure its not it.

 

You might have to uninstall it, then re-install it.

I had some problems like that on my new computer with it.

 

you have to have 1gb ram just to run vista btw..try to unistall the reinstall. if that doesnt work then you might have to get a new one

 

you mean physically pull it out and put back in? because theres no drivers installed, and i cant install them, and it cant even recognise that its even pluged in

Or do you mean vista? cos that took me forever to install of my external hardrive so no thanks. i should get my new comp tomorrow anyway so i dont really care

 

Wrong. I can run it on a 4 year old laptop with 512MB RAM, it doesn't use too much resources as long as you don't get Ultimate (which is an epic waste of money, considering most of the features most people don't even know are there, nor are they useful).

Vista actually has fairly good hardware support rather than its predecessors, so your new computer should be pretty safe. I recommend a Creative sound card, or something similar - 5.1 or 7.1 Speakers are a good buy.

 

yeah i got ultimate haha, but i didnt pay a cent for it. and i only have 512 on this comp.

yeah my new comp is top of the line so thats all good, its got 4 gig ram, newest motherboard, quad core processor, 9800gtx vid card so im sure it wont have any probs.

has nothing to do with ram.

 

it was my sound card, it was too old for vista, anywho my new comp has no probs with sound so yeah
