[DENIED] Trade pop-ups

Hello,

Apologies if this suggestion has been brought up before, but I'm hopeful that this is something that can keep the RAS thread less active in terms of scams being reported, and occurring. I also apologize in advance if the layout of my thread is a little off. I'll try to keep it as simple and easy to interpret as possible.

Now before I continue, most people may say or agree with the statement "It's up to the user to do his/her due diligence prior to making any trade". Any trade done by anyone is risky, but obviously those on Sythe with a higher standing are generally within the more trusted population. I see individuals on here who have been on Sythe a couple of weeks/months even and end up being scammed by some guy who just joined last Sunday, or June 5, 2018 for example. Who's to say the victim didn't engage in trading for the very first time? The staff isn't here to hold our hands, and I get that much, but it'll make the site more "user-friendly" in my opinion.

Proposal: Enable a pop-up notification for newcomers with a disclaimer of making any trade at your own risk, and to always use a MiddleMan (maybe a link attached) for you the "buyer or seller", and the opposing parties safety.

Yes, there are stickies and things of that nature for the purpose of explaining these things, but in all honesty who actually reads them? Not insinuating I've never looked at them but the Staff does not get paid, and I feel like this would make their job in that section much easier.

Example(s) of avoidable scams via MM:

Swapping GP (Private servers included)
Selling/Buying GP
Minigame/questing services
Firecapes, etc...

NOTE: I didn't include account selling/buying because even with a MM there is a risk of recovering, but the common scams listed above can be prevented. Also, there is a risk of having a MM such as scam quitting, and even the MM being banned in the middle of a trade.

There are some things that could be modified with this suggestion, such as if someone is inactive for a certain period, in which they return and click within the market section, or section that offers buying/selling, that they receive that notification.

To whomever reads this, I ask for constructive criticism in how to make this better, or if you disagree simply state why this suggestion wouldn't be beneficial, not why you don't agree with it. Thank you for taking the time to read this and comment.

 

Support. A seller/trader/buyer that is eager to do those things most likely will skip reading a sticky, even for their own protection. This is the biggest population of people getting scammed. Impatience, eagerness, and cravings are definitely things that will lead to someone getting scammed. We cant argue otherwise here as its showcased on a daily basis in reports.
