Duel arena update... happening or not?

Is the duel arena update of being able to set stats happening?

Now that raids 2 is released they may start to shift focus and look at this again.
I believe on one of jagex's live streams they said these kinds of changes weren't a priority comparing to release of new content.

 

I’m beginning to wonder if they have decided that changing it would cause more lashback then good. People will RWT with or without the arena and 95% of the stakes are at max anyways, so they would be fixing a non problem and creating more problems through community lashback

 

But surely thats because theres only really reason to be in the duel arena if you're max? (unless you're an x-er or want to lose your bank from x-ers)
I would prefer it if you were able to set stats but i did just buy a service to create me a max main so im hoping an update doesnt come too soon lol.

 

Thats what I’m saying, its mostly maxed players staking with a million odd staking accs getting a couple stakes/sessions a day on each account...And when people stake 5b+ sometimes they give odds just to get a stake, no problem there

 

They will change it 100% it’s just they need to decide first which is the best action to take. Add a trade limit at the duel arena OR make it so every player has maxed stats or customizable stats. Either way it will happen it’s just a meter of time, and now that Raids is done we should expect it before the Summer is over.

 

I agree that they will likely change it, but no its not 100%. Far from it. They brought this up 9 months ago and still nothing...

 

They mentioned a month or so ago that they are still working on it so it’s not something that will go away or be forgotten.

It was at the bottom of one of the News updates on the website 1-2 months ago. It just mentioned they are trying to figure out which would be the best course of action to take.

 

That was just a follow up from the second post, gathering information to make a decision could still mean deciding to go through with anything or not

 

they will not do the max stats thing, they said that you could only wear items you actually had the requirements to wear, but they realised that level 3s would just box.

Arena will forever be cancer and the only way they will fix it is by removing it completely, and they will not do that because it's a good circulation of GP in the game.

I think they will, they're just too scared to fully fuck it up. Venezuelan's are already scamming 16 hours a day, when they get their accounts for free without needing to be trained the duel arena will be a disaster.

 

That’s good they won’t do the max stats. If they added a trade limit that would help but their will be so many ways around it. Do you remember where/when they said they won’t do the max stats idea?

 

It was either 2 or 3 Q&A's before Raids 2. And I cba going back to find it lul it was when they were talking about rev rewards

 

Pretty sure on one of the lives streams, Hagex said they are doing this change 100%.

I wonder if this will cause the price of gold to go down?

 

It will probably go up in the short-run, long term however most likely will stabalize to where it is now
