Currently, the suggestion forum is broken, certain threads get closed or approved in 2 days, and in other cases, you get this, [Sythe] Logo Redo: Revisited.
That is absolutely amazing, an 11.5 month old thread that is still unlocked. That absolutely blows my mind, how can a suggestion not have been decided as approved or declined in that span of time!
Well, as I learned this morning, I received a Warning point for "spam" as I bumped my suggestion a week ago, come to find out this is spam apparently. Let me show you where it says you may not bump a suggestion thread or you will be infracted, . There you go guys, it doesn't state anywhere that bumping a suggestion is infractable, a bump doesn't consist of an "I support" or an "I don't support", it also doesn't fall under anything in here

It wasn't a comment, it was a bump, it wasn't a free bump on another's thread, and it wasn't on a sticky. I didn't do it to add to my post count, I did it to revitalize the suggestion I made. It wasn't a comment. It wasn't multiple threads in any regard.

    Resolution:
Threads open longer than X time are to be closed and accepted or denied, I don't care what the time frame is, regardless I would like a resolved time for suggestions. People write them trying to either throw their 2 sense into things, or to try and better the site. Leaving them unresolved seems like a waste of time for the people who took their time to write them.

As for the bumping, add it to the "I support" sticky that bumping isn't allowed, or add it into general rules.

Please, someone throw me under the bus if this is retarded, but seriously, suggestions shouldn't last almost a year, or be open still for that matter.

Some things should be resolved quickly and are ridiculous for us to keep open for a extended period of time. On the other hand, there are subjects which can and should take an extended amount of time to resolve. Adding a blanket rule to not allow this is not a productive decision to make because suggestions are such cover such a wide arena issues not easily piled together.

As for bumping, people always find a way to be annoying. Bumping suggestions while they are being discussed privately and having people see it as being ignored could be counter productive, but at the same time bumping a forgotten suggestion can be helpful in wiping a topic off the table. My alternative would be a 3 day suggestion bump rule.

tld;dr I don't support the blanket rule for suggestions, in regards to the "X amount of time." I support bumping suggestions if not posted on in 3+ days.

Okay, I'm tired, so give me a small break. I do agree that closing suggestions after X period can be defaulting as sometimes they do need an extra push to give the thread an actual reason to say yes or no, that is perfectly fine, I still believe that some suggestions should be closed after X time, whether they didn't get feedback and mods don't like it, or they did get feedback and are being processed by mods. So split with me here; Keep the time frame, but add an extension IF need be. And this time frame doesn't need to be short, could be anywhere from 30-90 days is what I believe would be fair.
